A Year of Lifesaving Care and Hope
As we wrap up 2024, we are grateful for the ongoing support from our community that has made it possible to continue our mission of providing specialized care to senior cats in need. This year, June’s Senior Cat Rescue welcomed 32 senior cats into our care, while 8 cats found their forever homes. Sadly, 16 cats crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but we take comfort knowing they were surrounded by love in their final days. Today, we have 54 cats in our care.
Challenges of Senior Cat Care
Caring for senior cats presents unique challenges, especially due to the complex health issues they may face. Many come to us with health concerns, and some develop them as they age in our care. These conditions often demand ongoing treatment and monitoring. Thanks to your generosity, we are able to offer all our cats the medical support they need to flourish.
We’ve included a graph below showing the distribution of health issues among the cats we have in our care, with kidney disease and stomatitis being the most prevalent.
