June summer-reading program made possible through community partnership

In-person experiences to be hosted at Giddings Elementary School gym in June

We're excited to be able to offer a modified summer-reading program during the library's emergency closure. Staff members have worked hard to transform the popular annual program instead of canceling it. Key components of this year's June 1-26 summer-reading program include:

  • Convenient online registration with printable reading logs
  • In-person experiences at the Giddings Elementary School gym
  • Prizes distributed upon completion of reading logs
  • Prize pickup at the temporary, teeny-tiny library, and at all in-person experiences

Registration is open! Visit our website to register, see a calendar of events, and read a full description of this year's program. Thanks for your patience as we work hard to continue offering valuable programs and services even without the use of the library building!

We're extremely grateful to outgoing mayor Joel Lopez who coordinated with Giddings ISD to find a place for us to offer our in-person experiences this summer. Thank you, Mayor Lopez, GISD, and Giddings Elementary School!

Storytime season welcomes 104 different attendees in 28 weeks

Our Wednesday morning storytime runs October-April for families with pre-school children. This classic children's program offers an opportunity for children to learn and play together. During the 2025-2026 season, Ms. Nicole read 28 books and a total of 1,032 pages! Cumulative attendance at all storytimes was 455.

The new storytime season begins in October. Visit our website for a full list of dates for the 2026-2027 season.

Bring change for quick, convenient checkout

The most convenient way to pay for office services at our temporary, teeny-tiny location is with exact change. We don't keep extra cash on site, so we can only accept coins and small bills.

We also accept credit cards; just be aware that the card-processing company charges an extra fee for card use ($1 per transaction). Please plan ahead and check our price list before you visit.
