Golf & BBQ for a GREAT cause
This is a final reminder that our 21st annual golf tournament fundraiser is happening on Friday, July 16th at Etowah Valley. There will be a $100,000 50-50 split hole-in-one contest, lots of beer, prizes & giveaways, and a homemade BBQ dinner smoked on-site by one of our amazing Board Members! There are spots for just a few more teams to register. To register, contact Sydney by June 14th at 828-775-4482 or sreichert@iwcnc.org.

Can't play, but want to support? Contact Sydney about hole sponsorships and in-kind donations for the tournament.
THANKS TO OUR BEER SPONSORS!

Warm weather means cookouts & fun
Our hardworking staff have been the backbone of our organization throughout this last year. We are so grateful for their dedication to the people we serve and for their commitment to go the extra mile to keep everyone in our programs safe and healthy. Thanks to a grant from United Way, we were able to have a picnic for all of our staff to thank them for their continued hard work! The Adult Day Activity Center folks also had a food-filled day last week in honor of Memorial Day. There were burgers, hot-dogs, and lots of smiling faces. The ADA Coordinator stayed up late Thursday night making homemade banana pudding; this is the kind of dedication and care from our staff that makes Irene Wortham Center such a special place. It was so wonderful to see many of the ADA participants back in the program enjoying this cookout with their friends after spending months social distancing at home.
Village Trade fundraiser June 6-11
We have an amazing opportunity to fundraise for our organization, while also helping local families AND the environment! You may have heard of the Wee Trade sale for kids consignment, hosted by Village Trade. They are launching a pandemic friendly spin-off sale and it's going to be pretty incredible! The sale is online and for teens, adults, kids, outdoor gear, housewares, etc. Think of it like Facebook Marketplace or an online yard sale with a central drop-off/pick-up (St John's Episcopal in East Asheville) and no direct messages/haggling or meet-ups.

They are giving us a chance to try the sale for free and if anyone shops online June 6th-11th, 5% of all purchases will come back to Irene Wortham Center! Just download and add this logo icon to your cart at checkout. There is also still time to list items for the sale. You name your own price, snap a photo, and only drop-off what sells!

Check Village Trade out on Facebook or Instagram or at their website. Their mission is to strengthen our greater community and donating a portion of sales back to nonprofits through this pandemic-friendly sale will certainly help.
