Join artist and JACO Board member Alissa Ohashi for this collage workshop exploring symbol, story, and self. No art experience needed; just curiosity and a desire to create. Through cutting, layering, stitching, and intuitive composition, we will explore the images that are already living inside us. The ones that hold memory, longing, tension, and possibility. This is less about making something “good” and more about making space for reflection, imagination, and unexpected insight. All materials are provided. Bring a friend or simply bring yourself.

Gather in community.            Explore your inner world.
See what wants to take shape.

SATURDAY CONVERSATIONS: ME & MY SHADOW

Saturday, July 11, 2026, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

1320 Cambridge Blvd [First Community building], Library [up the stairs, down the hall, on the left] Columbus, OH 43212
 [LOCATION SUBJECT TO CHANGE]

In Person Only

What private thoughts/feelings embarrass you? What do you secretly wish you could say but believe you cannot? Who appears in your dreams and contradicts your waking self-image?

Shadow seems to be everything we don’t want to know about ourselves and have thus conveniently ‘forgotten’ through denial and repression. But, without a shadow, we are incomplete. So please join us for conversation, coffee, and company on this most interesting topic.

Saturday Conversation is always free but it helps immensely if you register so we can plan accordingly. And we can notify you if there's a change in location!

BOOK CLUB:   MAN & HIS SYMBOLS-- INDIVIDUATION

Sunday, June 14, 2026, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Zoom Only

At our next Book Club meeting we will continue to move through Man & His Symbols, Chapter 3 focusing on “The Self: Symbols of Totality.” The discussions to date have been amazing—not only the concepts but dragging them into the 21st century and seeing how they work or need to be placed in a different context. Even if you were not able to join us at the first meeting, you are still encouraged to join us on June 14. Although the sections build on each other, they also stand on their own.

Book Club is always free but we need you to register so we can send you the link. [It will be the same link for all sessions for this Book but we will still send reminders prior to our get togethers.]

WHY I SERVE—Catherine Ballard

I am now in my 7th year as a member of the JACO Board. For the last 3 years, following the lead of Linda Meadows, I have been honored to be Board Chair. My last day in that position will be June 30, 2026. I will be continuing as Chair of the Programming Committee and otherwise meandering in and out of JACO’s activities. These past years have continued to reinforce my belief that I have been amazingly fortunate to be a part of this community. The Board and JACO’s members, the programs, get togethers, and library, have all enriched my life and continue to open my eyes and my heart as I stumble along my path of true self. The language of Jung and those who have followed and expanded upon his ideas is a language that speaks to me. And so, I thank all of you for all you have given me and for all I might have been able to give back to you.
