Great turnout for Pig. So a shout out to you all for supporting Indy Films. On that note we will be trying to bring in The Green Knight which is released by A24, one of the leaders in independent films. It is another Metacritic Must see at 89%.

The latest and greatest idea is $4.00 well drinks on Thursday. We think of it as Thirsty Thursdays. So it's Hot August Nights, Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies and everyone goes to the Odem Thursday!

"Stillwater" previews Thursday. Looks like a good one about a working class father from Oklahoma that tries to get his daughter out of prison in France. 83% on Rotten Tomatoes. Matt Damon got a standing ovation at Cannes this month for his performance.

"Jungle Cruise" Is also starting Thursday and it will be Emily Blunts' second film here at the Odem post pandemic. She stars along side the Rock and Jesse Plemens, (Breaking Bad) this film looks like a lot of fun for the whole family. The first reactions are in and first critical reactions to Disney's latest release have landed – and the feedback is overwhelmingly positive. Described as "a wild and fun ride, full of magic and charm", "hilarious and thrilling", and even "the most fun you'll have at the movies all summer", the movie's first viewers don't have a bad word to say about it.

Big thumbs up from Ted!

Nicolas Cage's new film looks like a winner. It opened on Rotten Tomatoes at 94% and now sits at 96%. On Metacritic it's moved to a Must See from 75% to 85%.Pig is so much richer and stranger than the Nicolas Cage revenge thriller it appears to be This is much more than a movie where Nic Cage hunts down the men who kidnapped his beloved hog AVClub

Pig is brought to you by Neon the distributer that brought us "Parasite" and "Apollo 11". This film has a lot of buzz and was filmed here in Oregon. Academy Award Winner Nicolas Cage stars as a former chef living off the grid and collecting truffles with his prize pig. It also stars Adam Arkin and Alex Wolf. The early reviews are in and is sitting at 96% on Rotten Tomatoes so it looks like a good one.
