The concept I like to promote to my clients is a lush life
.
I craft travel experiences that contain magic and wonder for the whole family (or a subset).
I've been doing this for about 8 years, but before that, I was an actuary. I dealt a lot with conventional return on investment (ROI) before, and I deal hourly with
return on life (ROL)
now. It's as if I went from being a true actuary to a
happiness actuary
.
I love that my whole role is about helping you
build memories
. Whether it's a "fly n' flop" beach holiday, a Galapagos expedition, a family reunion safari, a family bonding/ biking trip with university-bound kids, or a couples' wine -themed river cruise, I focus on what you want to bring home from each trip
. It's all about the experience.
Value is more important than price.
Let's set up a complimentary consultation, so I can start helping create your Lush Life.

Welcome to my weekly Sunday travel newsletter .
This week's theme is Jungles, Beaches, & Wildlife. Can you think of a more eclectic combination? Well, neither could I. :-) So, I thought it would be fun to look at some active trips that offer the possibility to combine all 3 options. You'll see the featured 3 trips (that have some more moderately priced holidays) featured, followed by the VAST (or Virtuoso Active & Specialty Travel) trips that are more luxury based trips that all focus on Jungles, Beaches, & Wildlife.
For a different spin on Jungles, Beaches, & Wildlife, see the last article below - it's a focus on a visit to Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida - for folks who want a family spin on the theme, with perhaps a trip not as far afield as Belize or Kenya.
And, for a "beach" that is more along islands you visit on a cruise ship, and your idea of "activity" is avoiding the buffet line, you should know that NCL has "kids sail free" on select sailings - NCL Kids Sail Free. A little humour is called for. :-)
Maybe your idea of a
"beach" is like the riverbed along the European rivers,
and maybe, just maybe, temper available pampering with some port walking and/or biking tours), river cruises are still a hot commodity at Lush Life for the month of March (and beyond).
I still have some terrific offers with Ama Waterways, Avalon Waterways, Tauck, Uniworld, and Viking. Some details on the full month's savings are detailed here
March River Cruise Savings
.
If you want to find out why river cruising is the hottest trend in travel, give me a call. And if there is anyway you can travel in May or June 2015, I have access to some special Canadian $ pricing, along with some unadvertised "free air" promotions with Viking River Cruises. Availability is quickly changing, and Viking reserves the right to change this at any time (it is unadvertised, and it is occupancy-driven, so if they sell what they need, the offer will be immediately withdrawn) But, I really must bring your attention that the "free air" can save over $3700 for a couple travelling from Ottawa. (Other cities are also available, and if a gateway isn't free, there may be a very small add on.)
Here's an example of some offers:
1. )
June 2015 European sailing, Romantic Danube (there is also a July, an August, and a November sailing that was available at print time)
2.) May and June 2015
Grand European - this incredible 15 day sailing is available on select dates with
"free air" as well as a
$4999/person balcony offer (based on double) - this is an incredible offer that will not be available for long.
I can't publish the list of Viking sailings, but I can tell you it includes dates for sailings on the Rhine Getaway, the Danube Waltz, the Elegant Elbe, the Legends of the Rhine, Paris & the heart of Normandy, the Passage to Eastern Europe, and Portraits of Southern France. Call me for more details.
I still have some great offers on Crystal Cruises too - ask me about the Hawaiian cruise in May 2016 in particular.
Have a great week, and let me know if you'd like me to feature a particular destination/ style of travel in next week's newsletter.
Best regards,
Sheila

Gorillas & Masai Mara
16 Days - June 26th, 2015 (superior departure-one only )
Kenya is a magnificent place to see a huge variety of wildlife. The Masai Mara, a vast grassland teeming with animals, has an astonishing amount and mixture of game, including lions, cheetahs and at certain times of the year, the wildebeest migration. Bird enthusiasts will particularly love Lake Nakuru, pink-rimmed with thousands of flamingos, and where there is a healthy population of White and Black rhinos. The highlight of the trip is undoubtedly the gorillas in the foothills of the Parc National des Volcans in Rwanda. This close-up encounter is arguably the most sensational wildlife experience of them all.
Cost from CAD $ 6300 p.p. twin share (Land Only). Read more: http://www.visiontravel.ca/sheilagh/active-travel/gorillas--masai-mara |

Orlando's Discovery Cove
A new twist on jungle, beaches, & wildlife
If your best holiday idea of combining jungle, beaches, and wildlife is to visit Orlando, and maybe Discovery Cove, here are some snaps to inspire you. I never thought of myself as a huge animal fan, but I have to tell you that there is nothing like playing, and then riding with, a dolphin as it swims. Amazing experience.
Discovery Cove is one of those spots that often gets overlooked when folks visit Orlando. Of course, there are the regular, and not so regular, haunts, like these blogs detail.

Four Seasons Orlando http://www.lushlife.ca/2014/12/four-seasons-orlando-luxury-disney-at-finest/
But the really cool think about Discovery Cove, is that you can take a morning or a day off from Disney and the parks, and go play with the dolphins and more besides! You can also get a VIP access, which will give you neat things like the use of a cabana for a day. And the pricing is not all that expensive for all of the additional perks.
Let me know if I can help you get to Disney, and Discovery Cove!
