Classroom Volunteers Needed! |
Classroom volunteers are needed to present JA Financial Literacy, Career-Readiness, and Entrepreneurship programs for the 2022-23 school year! Volunteers will present six-45 minute activity-based lessons once a week (flexible scheduling).
Details:
- Teacher remains in the classroom at all times.
- All materials are provided, including a step-by-step lesson plan book.
- Training is offered for all new volunteers.
- Previous teaching experience NOT required. JA materials are well organized and easy to present regardless of subject matter.
- Present alone or bring a friend and share the fun!

Calling All Young Entrepreneurs! |
Junior Achievement of Eastern Ohio, in partnership with the Eastwood Mall, will host a one-day Youth Market Day on Saturday, November 5th from noon to 3 PM. The event will feature young entrepreneurs who will offer their original products and services to the public. The mall will encourage shoppers to purchase from the students, and vote on their favorite businesses!
Young entrepreneurs are responsible for setup, signage, sales (money), and customer interaction. Tables and chairs will be provided. Judging and prizes will be awarded at the end of the event.
When: Saturday, November 5th, 2022
Time: Noon to 3 PM

JA Start My Business Workshop: Friday, October 14! |
The JA Start My Business program guides your child through the process of starting a business, with valuable information that will help your child make informed financial choices in the future. During the JA Start My Business workshop, a Junior Achievement staff member will guide students (and parents) through the JA Start My Business workbook, and answer any questions about the materials. Participants will receive a free copy of the JA Start My Business workbook!
When: Friday, October 14th, 2022
Time: 2 PM to 4 PM
Where: Eastwood Mall Complex, 5555 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles, OH 44446
Youth Market Day participants are encouraged (though not required) to complete the JA Start My Business Workbook or attend the JA Start My Business Workshop prior to the Youth Market Day event on November 5, 2022.

Designer Bag Bingo: Two Dates to Play! | |
Join us for Junior Achievement's most popular fundraising event of the year!
Price of admission includes 15 rounds of bingo, dinner and dessert. Winner of each bingo round will receive a new, authentic designer bag from brands like Kate Spade, Michael Kors, and Coach! Burton D. Morgan Foundation Approves $100k Grant for Junior Achievement of Eastern Ohio!
At the September Board Meeting, Burton D. Morgan Foundation Trustees approved grants totaling more than $1.6 million in grants to support entrepreneurship initiatives in Northeast Ohio. We are thrilled to announce that Junior Achievement of Eastern Ohio will receive $100k in funding for our entrepreneurship programming over the next two years! We are incredibly grateful for Burton D. Morgan's ongoing support and look forward to continuing to implement our life-changing programs for students in grades k-12! Read about Burton D. Amp Up your Afterschool Program with New Resources
OAN Virtual Resource Fair!
The Ohio Afterschool Network is holding a Virtual Resource Fair on Thursday, October 13th, 10:00-11:30 featuring over 35 organizations with social emotional, STEM, math and literacy, project-based learning curricula and other resources.
These resources can add exciting new content to your program and amplify the work you are already doing to support academic achievement, youth development, and family engagement!
Participating organizations include PBS, Reality Works, kid-grit, Gap Logic, BellXcel, and many more.
