JA Fellows Entrepreneurship Team Shines in Front of  Broward County Leadership

It was an inspiring moment at a recent Broward County Board of Commissioners meeting to watch young entrepreneurs from the JA Fellows Entrepreneurship Program team DHSP Enterprises, present their  business product, Safe Block. These students from Dillard High School, presented the story behind their product, which was created as a safety solution for students and teachers in the classroom in case of an active shooter situation, like that at Margery Stoneman Douglas High School. Students also shared their marketing video and financial results the company achieved.

Thank you Vice Mayor Holness for the invitation to showcase our JA Fellows students!

JA Career Bound Program Springboards Students Into Summer Jobs

2019 JA Career Bound Graduates Share Their Experiences
2019 JA Career Bound Graduates Share Their Experiences

What do you need help with at your business this summer? Maybe an inventory project your team has been too busy to complete? Or a social media campaign you've wanted to try out? Maybe the project isn't big enough to warrant a long-term new hire, but it is an important goal of yours.

JA has the solution! We have high schools students that have just completed the yearlong JA Career Bound program where they learned key work skills, including communication, critical thinking, goal setting, interviewing, problem solving, resume building, public speaking and more. They are trained and ready to be your intern for 4 weeks this summer! It's a win-win since your important project gets the attention it needs, and you also pay it forward by helping to give real work experience to the next generation.

"Having an intern work for Centuric for the summer was a great experience. We were fortunate to have an intern who wasn't just willing to learn the job, but wanted to learn as much as he could about all aspects of our business. It was a pleasure working with the next generation and seeing his desire to grow." - Richard Rodriguez, Centuric and JA Board Member.

AT&T Continues to Fund JA Programs
We know a little support goes a long way. But when you have companies like  AT&T   on our side, it makes our job of teaching students entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy skills much easier.

Thank you to the AT&T employees who recently volunteered their time in JA Finance Park and JA Biztown.  Also thanks to a generous grant, AT&T provided our students, teachers and volunteers a great lunch! JA also is appreciative of AT&T as one of our storefront partners in JA Finance Park.
