Any Minecraft Fans Out There?
New JA Coding/Robotics Camp Uses
Game to Teach Business Concepts

Last week, JA World Huizenga Cener at the Lillian S. Wells Pavilion hosted its last JA BizTown and JA Finance Park for the 2017-18 school year.  But that doesn't mean we're closing our doors!

In the JA Coding/Robotics camp, students ages 12-16 will  use the virtual world of Minecraft to develop business concepts and ideas that represent today's current reality and tomorrow's vision. JA campers experience a summer that provides a project-based approach to programming and gives campers hands-on coding experience.

In Robotics, STEM education is essential in preparing young minds for today's world of non-stop innovation. For this reason, JA campers experience a highly educational, fun learning approach to robots. At the camp children would learn 21st-century skills including coding, engineering and the scientific method in an extremely engaging way.

Junior Achievement of South Florida offers three exciting summer camps for students ages 8-16 - JA BizTown Camp, JA CEO Academy and the new JA Coding/Robotics Camp.

Teachers Went All Out
For JA Classroom Programs

Thank you to all 5th and 8th grade teachers who taught Junior Achievement programs during the 2017-18 school year.

Junior Achievement's programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to:
  • generate wealth and effectively manage it,
  • create jobs which make their communities more robust,
  • apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace.
Students put these lessons into action and also learn the value of contributing to their communities. Our programs are divided into  elementary, middle and high school levels.

"Students learn the importance of leadership and business skills through Junior Achievement, which is a valuable education that is priceless for my students." - Mitzi Plunkett, Teacher at South Broward High School

Do you know of a school that does not have and would benefit from having JA in its classrooms? If so, please contact Program Specialist Katrina Young at (954) 979-7104 or Katrina@JASouthFlorida.org.

Junior Achievement of South Florida inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a competitive, global economy by providing real world training in financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness.
Thank You Storefront Partners
