Like a challenge? Keep America Beautiful (KAB) launched its annual Great American Cleanup with a challenge for each of us to pick up 25 pieces of litter between now and Earth Day on April 22.

Sadly, you will likely find those 25 pieces on your next walk. According to KAB's 2020 Litter Study, nearly 50 billion pieces of litter are along U.S. roadways and waterways. That's more like 152 pieces per person. So don't stop at 25!

“Our parks, rivers, beaches, and neighborhoods belong to all of us,” said Jennifer Lawson, CEO of KAB, in a recent news release. “Whether you pick up litter on your daily walk, rally your friends for a cleanup event, or volunteer with a local Keep America Beautiful affiliate, the important thing is to take action.” For more on litter reduction, check out our blog, "Lose the Litter."
