Fostering Truly Saves Lives
Bookie is one of the lucky pups who has landed in an SSPA foster home!

Just look how happy this girl is to be in a home with a family and foster-dog brother Bear (who happens to look like her twin)!

Our fosters are truly life-savers, and getting out of the shelter and into a home can make all the difference for these adorable dogs! It also opens up kennel space for more dogs in need!

Watching a dog de-stress and come out of its shell in your home is one of the most rewarding experiences!

Happy Tails
Marco is loving life as a family dog!

Many said this boy wasn’t OK with men, but guess what?! He is living his best life with his amazing adoptive papa, Victor! Check out a video of him doing zoomies at home.

This is why we don’t label dogs and why we treat all dogs as individuals. In a chaotic environment such as a shelter or in a home that doesn’t fit, dogs may show one characteristic. However, in the right home that sets them up for success and gives them love and patience, a dog will thrive!

No labels is the way to go, along with giving dogs the chance to thrive! Oh yeah, and incredible fosters and adopters rock our world!

Congratulations to Marco and Victor! We can’t wait to continue to see your relationship grow!
Duke is thriving with his family!

Adopter Lin, who works on animal-welfare issues, flew out from Iowa to adopt this amazing boy, driving back with him!

She sent us an update, saying, "Duke is an incredible German shepherd and he’s doing very well. Thank you for all the work you do to help the dogs and Duke says, 'Woof woof!' "

What an incredible adoption story! We're so happy for you both!
Apollo, formerly Bingo, at center, fits right in with his pack!

Adopter Jamie said, "He is AMAZING and we love him so much. He doesn't do much without a toy in his mouth. We can't thank you enough for matching us with this sweet boy."

Now that's one adorable pack! Thank you so much for adopting, Jamie!
Don’t forget: If you adopted through SSPA, we offer post-adoption counseling to help with your new dog’s transition into your home! Email sspadogs@gmail.com! You can send "Happy Tails" updates there as well!
