Just Fix It Update
Thank You for Supporting Wisconsin Transportation

Thank you for supporting the Just Fix It campaign. Over the last couple years, we succeeded in raising awareness of Wisconsin's deteriorating system conditions and the need for sustainable funding. However, there is still work to do. The recently enacted budget does not include a a long-term plan to fund transportation throughout the state. Please stay tuned for information on the continuing campaign.

Together, Wisconsin can Just Fix It.

Take Action: Thank Assembly Leadership

As we gear up for round 2, please take just a moment to thank Assembly leadership for all they did to educate the public about the $1 billion transportation funding shortfall and to keep sustainable funding options on the table. Act NOW !

State Road Frustrations Remain
UpFront with Mike Gousha excerpt
September 24, 2017

Mike Gousha says the new 2017-2019 state budget failed once again to find a long-term transportation fix.

Instead, this spending plan, like those in the past, kicks the can down the road. Yes, there's less borrowing, but there's also not enough money to pay for a number of key projects around the state. So some will be delayed, including ones affecting the economic hub of Milwaukee.

The state's inability to find a transportation fix stands in sharp contrast to some of our Midwestern neighbors. Michigan is phasing in fuel tax and vehicle registration fee hikes. Iowa and Indiana have raised their gas tax by 10 cents a gallon. The feeling was that with an improving economy and relatively low gas prices, now was a good time to bite the bullet and Just Fix It. Just not here in Wisconsin.  View segment
