-Get to the outlet spot & call for outlet
- Back to the sideline
- Deeper the outlet = faster the break
-Diagonal (Banana) Cut
- See the defense
- Catch on the move
-On the catch = immediately look ahead to the rim runner & wings
-Hard push = 2 dribbles to get across half-court
-Ideally, we should "snake" 50% of the time
-Snake to change ball-side = to create driving opportunity, to create ball ahead opportunity and/or to improve angle in order to feed rim runner or use drag screen
-Constantly seek drag opportunities if ball ahead is not there.
-Drag guidelines:
- See the drag before it appears. Bigs are hunting for drags. Its your responsibility to put them in position.
- Be an actor - see the drag but don't stare it down.
- Change speeds, change direction & go shoulder to hip by the screener.
- Get downhill using the screen in order to create scoring opportunities.
-Always be looking for penetration opportunities & search out Euro (pitch-back) situations
-On ball ahead, sprint through to either corner to allow for reversal series
- Ideally, cut weak-side 67% of the time & cut strong-side 33% of the time.
-Ball ahead should typically occur before half-court
-PG can also make reversal pass to trailer to initiate secondary offense
