Free Webinar: Get Started with the Strategic Instruction Model (SIM) through the Sit up, Lean forward, Ask Questions, Nod your head, and Track the speaker (SLANT) Strategy for Class Participation

Received from the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) Regional STEM Center.

The Center for Research on Learning (CRL) at the University of Kansas (KU) is holding a free webinar in late January to share the newly updated SLANT Strategy manual. SLANT stands for Sit up, Lean forward, Ask questions, Nod your head, and Track the speaker

Free Webinar: Get Started with SIM through the SLANT Strategy for Class Participation.

Date: Wednesday, January 28th, 3:30-5:00 pm CST (4:30-6:00 pm EST)

During this FREE 90-minute webinar, participants will learn the updated SLANT class participation strategy and will be provided with a free digital copy of the manual. This strategy will equip teachers with an immediately actionable instructional resource to create a more active and positive learning environment, particularly helpful heading into the spring semester!

SLANT is a part of KU CRL's Strategic Instruction Model (SIM) Learning Strategies, which emphasize key elements such as feedback, active engagement, explicit teaching, modeling, mnemonics, and mastery learning. Not only are these practices instructional, but they are also powerful tools to help students become more independently strategic.

Please see the SIM Event: SLANT Webinar webpage to register.
