JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER KID
Many times, when young people come into foster care, they don’t have properly fitting clothes. Or if they do fit, their clothes are worn with holes and frayed edges. If they play sports, they may not have a uniform or athletic clothing.

KEYS TO SUCCESS: ANDIE
When Andie, 16, joined the Keys to Success program, she already knew the career she wanted to have: be an emergency medical technician (EMT). This bright young woman is on track to graduate from high school a full year early.

Working with her career development specialist (CDS), Andie had the opportunity to conduct an informational interview with a local EMT to learn about the job, how to prepare for it and more. The interview reinforced her desire for this career choice. Read more...
AFFCF SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
January is an exciting time for the AFFCF Scholarship program! Members of the AFFCF Scholarship Committee reviewed and awarded 11 new AFFCF scholarships for the Spring 2022 semester, bringing the total number of AFFCF scholars to 70!

Additionally, January marks the start of a new semester and AFFCF staff, board members, and members of the scholarship committee hosted a series of start-of-the-semester dinners for students! 65TH ANNUAL VNSA USED BOOK SALE
Book lovers get ready to turn some new pages! The VNSA’s Annual Used Book Sale is set for February 12 – 13 at the Arizona State Fairgrounds. Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation receives proceeds from the sale, along with the Literacy Volunteers or Maricopa County.
 
This year marks the 65th anniversary of the book sale and it continues to be one of the largest book events in the Southwest. In 2020, more than 500,000 used books, DVDs, CDs, videotapes, games and maps were available at bargain prices and this year promises to be even better.
 
Admission to the book sale is free, but there is a charge for parking. Hours for the sale are as follows:
 
February 12 | 8AM – 6PM
February 13 | 8AM – 4PM
