Governor Brown's Gas Tax is the largest in History.
The City of Newport Beach Turned Down the "Free Money" From the Governor.
The Newport Beach City Council, last Tuesday,
decided not to seek gas tax hike money from Governor Brown. This gas tax is the largest in state history and most harmful to low income residents. Newport Beach didn't want to participate in this.
The Governor is already trying to use the improvements and applications for improvements to justify the tax to the public "See look how much this is needed we have hundreds of applications".
The city council voted 5-2 to reject this "blood money" as some have called it. Personally I think that we ought to put our energies into the recall of the gas tax rather than applying for the money. Someone has to start it by saying NO.
