Funding Available for Flood Resilience & Stormwater Projects in NH's Coastal Watershed

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) Coastal Program and Watershed Assistance Section are accepting Critical Flood Risk Infrastructure Grant (CFRING) applications for flood resilience and stormwater management projects located within NH's coastal watershed. This new grant program intends to support planning and assessment work, as well as implementation projects that reduce flood risk and address stormwater management challenges.

For the purposes of CFRING, “flood resilience” refers to the capacity of a community or system to thrive in a changing climate – not only measured by the capacity to “bounce back” quickly from shocks and stresses like storms, but also measured by the capacity to “leap forward” to create new ways of working to achieve community goals and social, economic, and environmental well-being over the long-term. “Stormwater management” includes use of structural or nonstructural practices designed to reduce stormwater runoff pollutant loads, discharge volumes, and/or peak flow discharge rates.

Learn more about eligibility, and available funding via the NH Coastal Adaptation Workgroup (CAW) funding announcement, or attend the upcoming webinar on Mar. 7.

Share Your Thoughts on Housing in the Region!
Housing is a hot issue, and SRPC has launched its 2022 Housing Needs Assessment project to better understand regional circumstances and create a framework for change. To do this, SRPC needs your help!

Are you frustrated with low vacancy rates and high rents? Or, did you find an affordable home in a community you love? SRPC wants to hear from you! Please take the brief, online survey, created for this project, so that SRPC staff can better understand regional housing needs and create a plan in response to those needs. We welcome you to share this survey with your family, friends and networks.

Not located in the SRPC region? Each planning region across the state is also looking for feedback – view the statewide project webpage to figure out which planning region your town/city is located in.
