Spring is officially here and while we had a relatively mild winter in the state of Michigan, most of us are excited about the warmth and beauty that spring brings. Take a nature walk with your child and observe all the changes that are already happening all around you. Spring is viewed as a rebirth or new beginning. Please see the PowerPoint about encouraging kids to try new things. April is designated as national autism awareness (acceptance, pride) month. In this space we often discuss diversity and inclusion. Let’s take some time this month to deepen our understanding of children and adults with autism and other developmental challenges who may process information or respond to things that are happening around them differently than we do and work towards forming more inclusive, supportive communities. As usual, please see the list of fun things that you can enjoy with your child.
