Just Who Do We Think We Are?
Rich Martini Says...
|
"We don't die....Yes, our physical body crumbles, but the spirit, the thing which animates us, our soul, our energetic construct -- call it what you will -- does not die. In fact, it continues on quite nicely, thank you very much." (p. 14)
"...Our 'life energy' moves from this reality into another 'reality,' reportedly like walking from 'one room to the next.'" (p. 7)
"When our body stops functioning, who we are as individuals does not....Our consciousness continues on, unabated, with or without our bodies." (p. 15)

This month I’m eager to tell you about an exciting author I hadn’t encountered before I recently came across a YouTube video of a talk he gave to an IANDS (International Association of Near-Death Studies) convention. After viewing the video, I knew I wanted to investigate more of his work. That inspiring video is included below.
The author is Richard Martini, and he has published eight books about investigating the Afterlife through hypnotic regression. Martini is a journalist, author, director, and award-winning filmmaker who has worked in the Hollywood film industry for many years. He has written and/or directed 8 theatrical features, and a number of documentaries. One of his books, Flipside: A Tourist's Guide on How to Navigate the Afterlife went to #1 twice in all genres at Amazon.
I find that Martini's books reflect what we've learned from other past-life regressionists and authors and give us insights into our reasons for being on earth and into what happens when we leave our bodies behind. When numerous researchers relate the same basic concepts, I believe there must be truth behind those concepts.
I hope you enjoy reading about this new (to me, anyway) author and his unique way of approaching unusual spiritual concepts.

Concepts Reported by Martini
After a close friend of his passed away, Martini began studying death and what happens after death. He investigated past lives through the work of authors Dr. Brian Weiss, Ian Stevenson, and Carol Bowman, all of whom, you may remember, have been the subject of an issue of Just Who Do We Think We Are?. You can find links to previous issues below.
| |
Martini eventually learned of the work of Michael Newton who had spent years regressing clients under “deep hypnosis” into past lives and then into a “between-lives” state, which became Newton's primary focus. “These sessions revealed not only previous lives, but a place between lives where everyone learns how and why we return for another lifetime on Earth.” (Richard Martini, Hacking the Afterlife, p.9)
After years of collecting “in-between-life” information from thousands of clients, Newton wrote a groundbreaking book, Journey of Souls, detailing how his clients described the Afterlife while under hypnosis. This book became one of "the great spiritual books of our time,” according to the Newton Institute. Newton’s second book is called Destiny of Souls. The Newton Institute was founded based on Newton's work in order to train other hypnotists to take clients to “in-between-life” states. (www.newtoninstitute.org)
Richard Martini had the opportunity to meet Newton, interview him, and videotape past-life regression sessions. Martini attended a conference at the Newton Institute where he observed a three-hour past-life regression demonstration, which inspired his further concentration on past-life and life-between-life regressions, transcripts of which have been included in his books and documentaries.

Martini wrote in Flipside, “By the time the [regression] session at the Newton Institute ended, I felt the axis of the Earth shift.” And after having a regression of his own, he states, “I came away from my session feeling as if the Earth had further shifted on its axis. Everything I thought I knew was no longer operative. I’d taken the red pill as they say.” (Flipside: A Tourist's Guide on How to Navigate the Afterlife, p. 11)
The introduction to Hacking the Afterlife states, “In this book, I’m going to demonstrate how we all can make the same journey to a life-between-lives state and discover the very reasons for our existence on earth….There is dramatic and startling new evidence of life before and after death, and with proper guidance, any one of us can travel there and learn why we chose previous lives, and how and why we chose our current ones.” (p. 11)

Rich Martini has spent a decade filming past-life and life-between-life regressions and interviewing the subjects about their “Flipside” experiences. “Flipside” is Martini’s term for what is commonly called “the other side.” As a journalist and writer, he states that the experiences of subjects are “essentially the same,” and he is merely a reporter of the information he’s gathered. His eight books detail those reports.
This is not new information about the afterlife because other past-life researchers have shared the same conclusions. I believe that when more and more regressionists find similar results, the facts that emerge serve to further verify those concepts.
Martini defines "life hacks" as any "trick, shortcut, skill, or novelty method that increases productivity and efficiency in all walks of life--or in this case--and beyond." (p.6) He believes these Afterlife hacks are concepts that are beneficial for us to understand, such as
- "We don't die," which is described by Martini at the top of this email.
- Another hack confirmed by many regressed clients is the "Afterlife is 'home.'" The earth is similar to a university where we come to learn and grow, and when we die, we feel as if we've come back home.
- Martini explains that we have soul groups on the Flipside, like families, with whom we study and with whom we often make plans to be together in another life.
- "We're fully conscious between lives. " Death is like stepping from one room into the other." Our consciousness is intact just as it was when we were alive and healthy.
- "We choose our parents," and plan a rough outline and purpose for our lives before we are born, although we have total free will on earth. We can follow the plan or not.
- "Everything happens for a reason." You may have agreed to plan particular events in order to meet your goals for this life or to help someone else meet theirs.
-
"Good and Evil have meaning on earth, but not over there." Sometimes souls can agree to play the role of an "evil" person in a life in order to aid the growth of another, but that doesn't make their soul evil. There is only love on the other side.
-
"What you expect generally dictates what you'll initially experience in the afterlife." That's why Martini believes it's important to learn from the reports of others what to expect upon our passing.
Paraphrased from Hacking the Afterlife, pp. 14-29
Martini says in Hacking the Afterlife, "Just let go." "Let go of the fear of death, the fear of life, the fear of illness, or abandonment, of every fear that exists on the planet that keeps us in a delusional state. Once we let go of fear, let go of anger, let go of emotions that are attached to an event, let go of revenge towards people and events that are beyond your control or even comprehension as to why they occurred--once you can truly let go, you can be free." (p.29)

"We're on the planet for a reason, we have roles to play, we might as well play them as well as we can."
Richard Martini, Flipside:
A Tourist's Guide on How to Navigate the Afterlife, p. 5
...[T]hose of us here have all agreed to come here, to get back on stage, to play our parts as requested of us. We may not like it once we get back here, but how we perform is entirely up to us."
"Earth. Life. Being human. Being alive. Going through a lifetime. When we're done with it, we have the desire to go 'home'....That place over there, the one we think of as 'in the afterlife' or 'after death' is actually what we all consider to be 'home'."

Good News You Didn't Hear About
Global poverty reduction efforts are back on track. After three lost years due to the pandemic, the World Bank estimates that for 2023, 691 million people (or 8.6% of the global population) will be living in extreme poverty, which would represent the lowest proportion in human history.
An additional 3,000 school districts have been added to America’s free school meal program, giving over five million more students access to breakfast and lunch in low-income areas. Eight states, including California, Massachusetts, and New Mexico, have now made school meals free to all students, regardless of income. PBS
England has officially banned plastic cutlery, balloon sticks, polystyrene cups and placed restrictions on single-use plastic plates, bowls, and trays, and the United States will phase out single-use plastics across 194 million hectares of public lands, including national parks and wildlife refuges within the next decade.

If this "Good-News-Letter" inspires anyone to look into the law of attraction or past lives or what happens when we die, I will be satisfied. I am convinced that these are all profound truths: that our thoughts and beliefs influence the things and events of our lives, that we live many lives, that we never die--our consciousness continues on, and that in-between our lives, we rest, study, learn, and plan our purpose for our next life.
For me, these ideas are "good news" and help to answer universal questions about why we are here. Please take what resonates with you and leave the rest. Shari
