Just Who Do We Think We Are?
Bob Olson Says...
|
"The more I investigated the afterlife...the more I could not envision God as a person and instead began to view God as Creative Intelligence, Source Energy, or Universal Energy. God is Source Energy (all that is) and all the souls that exist are extensions of Source."
"Each individual spirit (including you and me) is simply an extension of God.... We are eternally connected to God at all times. Even more accurately, we are God; that is, we are God in the same way that your arms and legs are you. You are not all that God is, just as your left arm is not all that you are, but you are most definitely one with God."

Remember Bob Olson? I have written about him before. He is the author of Answers About the Afterlife: A Private Investigator's 15-Year Research Unlocks the Mysteries of Life after Death, which he wrote in 2014 as a result of using his private investigator's skills to find out where his father was after his death. He began his search as a skeptic and finished as a believer and a go-to source on what happens when we die. Click on the title above and find some PDF files on his website about the book which you can download if you are interested.
Olson has recently joined an online writer's group called Substack. (www.substack.com) This venue enables him to have a subscribed following. Of course, since he is one of my favorite authors, I immediately signed up! He currently sends two www.substack.com articles per week, one free and one for subscribers only.
He recently sent a very interesting article with concepts that I want to share with you this month. I am using information from his book, Answers About the Afterlife, as my reference. The topic is "What determines how and when we die?"
"Say, what?" you may think. "You mean that death is predetermined? Not accidental or random?" Olson describes five factors that may determine how and when we die (although he says there are also other factors that influence our passing.)
I have read other authors who have voiced similar ideas. I recall that Edgar Cayce reported in one of his "readings" that not only do we plan our lives before we are born, we predetermine several built-in opportunities to exit this world if, on a subconscious level, we choose to do so.
Olson is the host of an online video production called "Afterlife TV" where he interviews interesting people on various topics related to life and death. (Find Afterlifetv on Youtube.com) I included a video below of an Afterlife TV episode. He has also written a novel titled The Magic Mala, which I understand from his website is being made into a movie.
If you have an interest in what happens when our bodies "die," I highly suggest you further investigate Olson's research into the Afterlife in his book, Answers About the Afterlife, and/or subscribe to his Substack articles.

Factors That May Determine How
and When We Die
from Answers About the Afterlife
by Bob Olson
"Dying, when I use the word, only means that our physical body dies, not our consciousness. In reality, we go on living without our body—consciousness survives death. So when I use the word ‘die’ (or dying) in this book, I’m simply referring to the death of the physical body. When this occurs, our spirit (consciousness) returns to the spirit world (the afterlife).” (p. 29)
PRE-BIRTH CHOICES:
This factor is based on the belief that before a soul (spirit) incarnates on Earth, it plans basic details of it’s next life with the assistance of spirit guides. Olson purports that the soul will establish specific goals it plans to accomplish in this life. Olson uses the terms spirit guides and higher self interchangeably, suggesting that our higher self is connected to our spirit guides. He believes that they guide us for our benefit while on Earth by creating coincidences or miracles, as well as guiding us in the decision how and when to "die."
REASONS FOR THE DECISION OF WHEN AND HOW TO DIE:
- When a soul's pre-birth goals have been completed it may decide it's time to leave this life.
- Or, perhaps the soul may (subconsciously) decide to exit if it realizes that its goals cannot be completed in this lifetime.
- Perhaps an early death is planned for a specific purpose, such as a learning opportunity for another soul.
- A soul may be "tired" and exercise its free will to decide to leave.
- If an opportunity arises for us to exit this life, perhaps an illness or an accident, our spirit guides (higher self) help to determine if this is the best moment.
REASONS SOULS MAY DECIDE TO STAY LONGER RATHER THAN LEAVING AT A PRE-DETERMINED EXIT POINT:
- Olson writes that a soul who has accomplished this life’s purpose may decide to stay longer to merely enjoy life.
- Or a soul may want to stay if there is an opportunity to learn more and grow.
- Some souls may remain longer to help others complete their goals. Olson believes that no soul actually needs another’s help, but we may stick around to help if we can.
- A soul may delay death because of the affect it would have on family, friends, or the public.
- In the case of an illness, the soul may recognize an opportunity to learn a lesson in healing ourselves through healthy living instead of leaving the life.
FREE WILL:
Olson assures us that free will is one of the most important factors in life as well as in how and when a soul dies. Pre-birth choices, life enjoyment, assisting others, opportunity, and free will are just some of the significant factors that may determine how and when a soul dies, but there are many others also.
Olson writes:
“Since our deaths also effect many other people (people who love and depend upon us or people we don’t know who might be affected in some way by our deaths), there is a lot going on behind the scenes regarding the decision to end our life…. Since our spirit guides and soul-self can understand all these infinite factors much better than we can, these factors are all taken into account and factored into the final determination of how and when we die.” (p. 32)

I hope you take the time to view this video! Olson explains
nine types of evidence that contribute to belief in life after death.
He is a knowledgeable and convincing speaker.

"My investigation of what happens when we die has taught me as much about life as it has the afterlife. My experiences researching this field have made me a better human being. I'm more loving and more compassionate, and I feel a greater sense of inner peace and purpose that I ever did when I never gave the afterlife a second thought." (p. 239)
"Now I saw myself as a spiritual being on a human adventure where everything has purpose, even when bad things happen, because every moment is an experience." (p. 240)

I LOVE TO SEND YOU MORE GOOD NEWS!
Good things are happening in the world that we may not have heard about! Shari
From the May 25, 2023, Future Crunch Newsletter
Yes, everything in America is awful, apart from the fact that it's on the verge of one of the most important public health victories of the 21st century, workers are the happiest they've been since the 1980s, the unemployment rate for Black workers has fallen to its lowest level on record, Rhode Island just became the sixth state to make lunch free for all students, reading scores in the Deep South are soaring, Vermont is spending hundreds of millions of dollars on making childcare more affordable, and Minnesota just concluded one of the most progressive and transformative legislative sessions in US history.
Canada's poverty rate fell to 7.4% in 2021, despite pandemic benefits ending. This is down from 10.3% in 2019, and nearly half the rate in 2015. In 2021, there were almost 2.3 million fewer Canadians living in poverty compared to 2015, including 653,000 fewer children, 11,000 fewer seniors, and 556,000 fewer persons with a disability. Statistics Canada
A big win for human rights in Romania, after the European Court of Human Rights ruled that its government has violated the right to family life by not giving same sex couples legal recognition. After a three-month period for appeals, the ruling will stand, leading to Romania being required to legalise same-sex civil unions. France24
The EU's highest decision making body just gave the final go-ahead for a new rule designed to stop the import of any products that destroy forests. The cut-off date has been backdated, meaning that only products that have been produced on land that has not been deforested or degraded after 31 December 2020 will be allowed to be imported to or exported from the EU.

If this "Good-News-Letter" inspires anyone to look into the law of attraction or past lives or what happens when we die, I will be satisfied because I am convinced that these are all profound truths: that our thoughts and beliefs influence the things and events of our lives, that we live many lives, and that in-between our lives, we rest, study, learn and plan our purpose for our next life.
For me, these ideas are "good news" and help to answer universal questions about why we are here. Please take what resonates with you and leave the rest. Shari
