Chesapeake Employers Announces Board Election Results

Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Company today announced the election of Theodore (Tedd) Martin Alexander III and Spencer P. Cavalier to the company’s Board of Directors, effective immediately. The election took place on June 23, 2021 during the company’s annual policyholder meeting. To read more, click here.

New ACORD Upload Tool, Job Aid Available

Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Company is partnering with Appulate, Inc. to provide agents with an upload solution for ACORD applications. This upload process allows you to upload ACORD applications into your eServices Accounts screen to proceed with the quoting process. You can still choose to continue quoting directly in eServices without uploading an ACORD application.

Reminder: New Reports Available

Over the last few months, we have released several new reports to help you better manage your book of business with Chesapeake Employers.

To access the reports, log into your eServices account in Internet Explorer* and click on the Reports icon to access the following:

Agency In-Force Book of Business – principal-only report showing the agency’s book of business
Agency Production & Experience – principal-only report showing growth by premium and policy count as well as loss experience
Agency Loss Run
Policy Loss Run
Renewal Expiration Review – displays a list of upcoming renewals set to expire between 0-120 days
Loss Ratio Term History

New Subscribe Feature: If you would like to receive automated email reports, you can click "Subscribe" on the reports menu and select when you would like to receive scheduled reports. Refer to our Report Subscription Job Aid for assistance. NOTE: Subscription is not currently available for the Agency Production & Experience or Agency Loss Run reports.

You can access additional claims reports in eServices by selecting Helpful Links: Claim Query/Enter a FROI/Claim Reports. These reports are available via any browser.

*We are working with our system vendor to allow Reports access under other browsers in the future.

eServices Tip: Copy Quote Feature

Agents can use the Copy Quote option to compare different coverage scenarios for new business and renewal applications.

When the application is in “quoted” status, you will have the option to “Copy Quote” in the I Want To menu on the Policy Snapshot screen. You can use this feature to generate an additional quote for the policy with different coverage options.

For example, if you want to show your client how a safety program impacts their premium, you could generate a quote with and without the safety program. Another instance would be including or excluding an officer.

Note that once you bind a quote, the other quote becomes unavailable.

Q: How do I generate a quote proposal?

A: Select View Quote or Email Quote on the Quote screen of the application. This generates a PDF copy of the quote proposal and ACORD application that is stored in the History section of the Policy Snapshot.

Q: How can I bind and issue a policy?

A: Move through the application and select Request to Bind when your client is satisfied with the quote proposal. Select ISSUE when you are ready and make a payment to issue the policy.

Q: What happens when my application is referred to an underwriter?

A: An underwriter reviews the application and will contact you with additional questions or provide a quote.
