Dear friends and neighbors:

George Floyd should still be with us.

Instead, police brutality has reared it's ugly head once again in our country as it has over and over again. The terrible murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis this week is excruciatingly heartbreaking and another example of the systemic racism and injustice that continues to plague our society. With an officer's knee on his neck for 8 minutes, George called out repeatedly saying, "I can't breathe" until he could he could no longer breathe at all.

Let's stand in solidarity with the Floyd family and all those who have suffered injustice at the hands of police brutality. People are rightly outraged and we must all stand together to call for the immediate arrest of the officers involved in this horrendous crime.

In Richmond we have taken some good steps to reject police brutality and racial profiling. More needs to be done.

Everyone should condemn the murder of George Floyd.

In solidarity for justice!
