Serving as the chair of the County’s Budget Committee, I worked with fellow elected officials to pass a fair and balanced budget that preserves funding for necessary youth and community services, while keeping expenditures down and without having to increase the tax burden on working families.
As a co-sponsor of the “Give 5” initiative to reduce the pet populations in animal shelters, the county raised nearly $50,000 in voluntarily contributions to provide pet owners financial assistance for spay and neuter services. Thanks to the generosity of Pulaski County residents, our “Bix Fix” event held November resulted in over 100 pets receiving necessary surgeries free of charge. Thank you to our partners Arkansans for Animals, Pulaski County Humane Society, Jacksonville Animal Shelter, Maumelle Animal Shelter, Sherwood Animal Shelter and the Little Rock Animal Village.
