A Note From the Principal:
We are headed into the home stretch of the school year in just two weeks! The schedule is full (bases loaded) and there's Read-to-Feed next week (batter up!). So let's hit it out of the park! God has given His strength and wisdom to see so much happen this year. We have an opportunity to share those blessings with others in need. Our read-a-thon is very dear to my heart because I have seen the ministry of the Food Bank of the Rockies touch the lives of those in need in the small community where I grew up. They do so much for our valley and they need our help to reach more. Please join us in giving back to our community, by adding to the food bank’s storehouse for the needy. ~ Mrs. Pingleton

Read-to-Feed:
Please join us this coming week as we work alongside our students and the Food Bank of the Rockies to fight hunger in our community. We are super excited to host our 4th Annual Read-to-Feed Event from March 5th-8th. Our preschool and school-age students will be collecting non-perishable food items throughout the week. The preschool class as well as the school-age class that donates the most items will receive an ice-cream party! In addition to the food drive, our school-age students will also participate in a Camping Themed Read-a-thon Thursday, March 8th. Throughout the week, students can collect financial pledges for their reading to support the Food Bank of the Rockies. The food bank is able to provide 4 meals for every $1 donated. If it’s one can, one dollar, or one prayer it will help!

Spring School Pictures:
March 23rd is picture day! Please have your child wear a navy blue polo for the class photo. Children may change clothing for individual photos.

Math & Science Center Field Trip:
We are excited to have the opportunity to take our K-5 students to the brand new John McConnell Math & Science Center! We will be visiting as a school on March 28 th from 1:00-3:00pm. Cost is $6/student and there is no charge for chaperones.  We will need parents to help drive and chaperone this exciting outing. Please mark your calendars and look for permission slips to come home soon.

Fundraising Success!
We did it! Thanks to the hard work of many parents, we surpassed our goal and raised $5,100 for new technology in our classrooms! This money will be used to purchase tablets, laptops, a portable charging station, and potentially integrating them into our mimeo boards. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who sold pasta, bought pasta, and donated directly to our tech fund! We are very excited and extremely grateful for all of your support!

Important Reminders:
Spring Concert:
Our students have been working hard to prepare for their Spring Concert, to showcase everything they’ve learned about music this year! Make sure your calendars are marked for April 26 th at 6:00pm.

Annual Golf Tournament:
We are gearing up for our 9 th Annual Par-Tee Golf Tournament on May 5 th . Every dollar raised will benefit our scholarship fund, to make BCS affordable for more families in the 2018-2019 school year. BCS families are encouraged to participate and recruit individuals and businesses to contribute. We are looking for prizes & silent auction items, team registrations and business sponsors. Look for Golf Flyers in your child’s folder, or contact school@bookcliffbaptist.org to contribute.

Easter egg Hunt:
On Saturday, March 31 st at 10:00am, Bookcliff will be hosting an Easter egg hunt on the big playground. This is a great event for BCS students and families to spend time together outside of school. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to invite friends who do not attend BCS to join in our fun, so invite your friends!

Did you know shopping on Amazon can earn money for BCS? Visit https://smile.amazon.com/ and select Bookcliff Baptist Church as your charity of choice. A percent of all of your purchases at Amazon Smile will be given to BCS!
Reminders:

  • Please note the new time & location for PTF this month. Join us at Cups Coffee House anytime between 8:00 and 9:30am, March 7th. This will be a more casual time to get to spend with fellow parents. Come and go as it fits your schedule.

  • Thank you for taking the time to complete our 2018 Parent Surveys and for your valuable feedback!

  • If you would like an opportunity to donate supplies we could use more reams of copy paper and paper towels. Thank you!

  • ALL visitors/volunteers, please sign-in and get a badge at the office.

  • Pizza is served every Friday. Your child may order 1-2 slices of cheese or pepperoni pizza each Thursday for $4.00. They may bring cash or have it billed to your account.
