Eleven K-State Olathe students earn graduate degrees

Eleven graduate students at K-State Olathe are receiving their master's degrees and doctorates from Kansas State University. It is the largest graduating class from K-State Olathe since its opening in 2011, and also includes the first graduates from K-State Olathe's food science program. 
May 2017 event connects university research, capabilities with KC industry

The 2017 Research Showcase is May 17, 2017, at K-State Olathe. The event spotlights the university's research capabilities, facilities and resources for business and industry in the Kansas City metro area.

Full-time student recruiter joins
K-State Olathe

Lauren Vaughan joined K-State Olathe on Dec. 5 as the admissions representative/recruiter. She will develop and oversee activities, events and programs that recruit new students and increase enrollment in the campus' academic programs.

Join K-State Olathe faculty and staff from 6-7 p.m. on Jan. 10, 2017, for an info session about our academic degrees and certificates, and discover which one is right for you.

  • Healthy Cooking for Diabetes, Jan. 10 -- Healthy Cooking for Diabetes is a 3-hour education and cooking class for people with Type 2 diabetes. The class pairs medical science with hands-on learning and is taught by experts in nutrition, the culinary arts and education. Participants learn how to manage their Type 2 diabetes through nutrition and healthy, tasty recipes. The class is from 6-9 p.m. Jan. 10, 2017, at K-State Olathe.

  • Generational diversity in the workforce, March 30-31 -- Bruce Tulgan of RainmakerThinking Inc. -- a specialist in management training and generational diversity in the workforce -- will deliver a keynote talk about management, leadership through change and working with millennials in the workforce at the event, Building the Future: Leading through Change. The event is March 30-31, 2017, in Kansas City and is designed as a professional development conference from the Master of Agribusiness program at Kansas State University. More information to come. 
Around the campus

Neala Boyer, D.V.M. and clinical assistant professor in the university's College of Veterinary Medicine, discussed community practice as a veterinarian to a full audience at a recent Careers and Cases in Veterinary Medicine lecture. The free lectures look at various topics in veterinary medicine and animal health and are geared to high school students, parents, teachers and the general public.
