Breakthrough  data-sharing agreement advances translational medicine 

1Data, a unique collaboration by researchers at Kansas State University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, has signed a first-of-its-kind  data sharing agreement with a local animal health company.  The information may help "big data" researchers rapidly develop and test therapeutics, drugs and medical technologies for people and their companion animals.

Prominent KC leaders join K-State Olathe boards, provide guidance 

The Olathe campus is welcoming seven new members to its advisory board and one new member to its board of directors. Both groups provide feedback on initiatives and programs to ensure that the campus meets the needs of Greater Kansas City.

Open House event slated for April 6, offers community activities and fun for all ages


You're invited to the  All-University Open House at Kansas State University's Olathe campus from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 6.   Open House is free and requires no reservations.  Let the countdown to fun begin!

K-State Women's Soccer Spring Game | 1 - 3 p.m.
Open house wraps with a spring game between the K-State women's soccer team and Oral Roberts University at  1 p.m. at the College Boulevard Activity Center -- across the street from campus. Advanced tickets to the game can be purchased at a discounted price. Order tickets now and learn more.

$500 scholarships offered
The Olathe campus and its partners are offering four $500 scholarships to new students applying to academic programs for summer or fall 2019.  See the eligibility details.

  • Veterinary medicine lectures -- This free lecture series from the university's College of Veterinary Medicine is geared to high school students, parents, teachers and the general public who are interested in learning more about the animal health profession. Lectures are from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Olathe campus and can be streamed online. Upcoming lectures are:

  • Food for Thought Film Series: Inhabit a Permaculture Perspective, April 11 -- This free movie and discussion panel explores the many environmental issues facing us today and examines solutions that are being applied using the ecological design process called 'Permaculture'. The film is the second in a series from the urban food systems program at the Olathe campus that explore various themes about food and humans' relationship to it.

On March 5, nearly 80 attendees participated in a seminar focused on CRO-sponsor relationships, including best practices to improve outcomes. This event is part of K-State Olathe's ongoing regulatory affairs seminar series that targets hot topics in the animal health industry and works to enhance connections between industry, regulatory agencies and research organizations.




Dozens of young professionals took part in a networking event at the Olathe campus. Attendees learned how to make pizza dough and grill pizza while they made new connections and learned about the academic programs at the Olathe campus.  The event was sponsored by the Olathe Chamber of Commerce YOPros and Costco of Overland Park.
