K-State announces 15th president |
Richard Linton was selected as the 15th president of K-State by the Kansas Board of Regents at a Dec. 2 meeting on the Manhattan campus. Linton plans to start his new job on Feb. 14.

Online graduate certificate in urban food systems now available |
K-State has launched the Interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in Urban Food Systems. It provides a systems-level understanding of urban food systems and the cultural, political, environmental and economic roles within them.

Students earn degrees for fall semester |
Thirteen students at Kansas State University's Olathe campus are completing their degree programs the fall 2021 semester. Graduates are being recognized during the Dec. 10 commencement ceremonies at the Manhattan campus.

We recently hosted 26 students in MidAmerica Nazarene University’s Nutrition for Health and Wellness course for a food science experience. Students were introduced to some of our food science faculty and academic programs, learned about the food science outreach and research at K-State Olathe, and toured the kitchens in the Food Innovation Accelerator and the Bhullar Food Safety Lab. |

Bethany Herl recently presented her master's defense, "Tetrad and triangle experimentation; repeated discrimination testing involving sweetened beverages and fabric samples." Herl, a graduate student in nutrition, dietetics and sensory science, discussed two evaluation methodologies used in consumer testing of beverages and fabrics. Her advisor is Martin Talavera, assistant professor of sensory analysis and consumer behavior. |
