Campus was abuzz with activity as more than a dozen home school students learned about bees during a hands-on field day at K-State Olathe. Students participated in a classroom lesson before enjoying some local honey on homemade biscuits. The experience culminated with a demonstration about apiculture from a local beekeeper, whose colonies provided the honey.

K-State Olathe's Advisory Board recently held a meet-and-greet with campus faculty and staff. The social let campus members network and share ideas with members of the board, whom provide guidance and feedback on educational, research and outreach programs and work toward the goals of the K-State strategic plan, and also serve as advocates in the community.
