Keep America Active is Back

By February, many of us need some incentive to keep going to the gym. The popular Keep America Active exercise incentive program is designed to give you a little nudge to up your activity level through the rest of the semester.
The basics:
  • Register as an individual or join a team of 4-6
  • Virtually travel across the US by recording exercise steps or minutes
  • Participate in other healthy behaviors to earn bonus miles
  • All registrants will earn a free week at One to One Fitness!
  • See beautiful photos and learn more about interesting destinations across the 50 states
  • Be in the running for great prizes like camp chairs and gift certificates from Next Level Fitness

Registration is open now and we start "traveling" on February 18.
Better Manage Stress and Improve Overall Health with Meditation
Regularly practicing meditation has been shown to improve a wide variety of health outcomes. Whether you are just starting to learn about meditation or are simply looking for a place to practice regularly with a group, this Wellness Meditation class is a good fit. Please register for this 8-week series.

The CWRU Wellness Program is a Gold Medal Winner!
On Thursday, January 24, CWRU Medical Director Elizabeth Click, was presented with a Gold Medal from the Healthy Business Council of Ohio. This was the first year the Wellness Program achieved the gold medal after reaching bronze status in 2015 and silver in 2016 and 2017.
"This award recognizes our commitment to faculty and staff well-being," shared Dr Click. "We were happy to receive this recognition of the positive impact we have made to facilitate wellness and to create a culture of health on campus."
Caring for the Caregiver
In this 2 week mini-series, counselors from EAP Provider, Impact Solutions
will offer information and tools for those in caregiver roles.
On March 1, our program will be Restoring Peace and Passion to the Workplace.
On March 8, our topic will be Caregiver Stress and Compassion Fatigue.

Get Strong at Your Desk!

Strength training is essential to good physical fitness. Workstation Workout allows participants to fit in resistance training anywhere, even at the desk. Learn proper technique for strength training with body weight and resistance bands (provided by the Wellness Program) in this six week class.
NOTE: We start tomorrow!

Take a Break with Seated Massage

Seated massage is back on Wednesdays this February.
For only $15, enjoy a relaxing 12-13 minutes massage from a One to One Fitness Massage Therapist.
Everyone Can Take Part in American Heart Month

There are many ways to take part in American Heart Month observances. One great way to be prepared in the event of cardiovascular emergency is to learn Hands Only CPR. The American Heart Associations offers this engaging 5-minute tutorial online .
f you are traveling soon, check out one of the the Heart Association's Hands Only CPR training machines in the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport in Concourse C and between Concourses A and B.

Another important key is to know the warning signs of a heart attack and stroke.

Being prepared can literally save a life.
