Message from KACC Executive Director

As always, the summer seemst to be flying by. There seems to be a lot of people around this summer and I hope that your business is benefiting from this and you are able to also get a chance to enjoy the summer!

We are excited that the annual Harvest Festival is almost here and we hope you are able to participate in the many great events taking place.

I want to thank Samuel Milley for spending the last 8 weeks with the Kensington & Area Chamber as our summer student. Sam was a great addtion to the Chamber community and we were very fortunate to have him. We wish you all the best heading into your second year at UPEI and want to thank you for your conributions over the summer!

As our Harvest Festival nears, I want to express my sincere appreciation once again to all of our local business owners and staff. Your continued dedication throughout the tourism season has helped make Kensington a vibrant and welcoming destination for visitors from near and far.

Whether you’ve been serving guests, hosting events, or simply keeping things running smoothly, your efforts have not gone unnoticed. You play a vital role in shaping the experience of everyone who comes through our town, and I’m proud of the community spirit you help foster every day.

Thank you for your hard work, your hospitality, and your commitment to the Kensington area. I look forward to the opportunities the fall season will bring, and to continuing our work together to make our town thrive.

Sou'West Bar & Grill

You can always count on the Sou'West for great food. Whether your on your way back to the campsite from cavendish or looking for a nice night out they got you covered! You can enjoy the fresh air, watching the boats go out or come back from sea. Listen to the music and laughter indoors, as the smell of fresh burgers, fries, fish wafts through the air. Perhaps you enjoy your time at the bar where the Sou'West has an excellent selection of drinks. or maybe, like me(Sam) you just don't have the time? takeout is an option for you too. Be sure to check out their Themed Trivia on Tuesday nights $5 fee for the chance to test your knowledge, for all the bragging rights, and some cool prizes!

Red Sands Golf Course

Red sands doesn't get "5th best nine hole course in Canada" by a fluke, they are the real deal. You have the choice to play 9 or 18 holes maybe both if you have the time. Either way you will be able to enjoy the nice summer sun a calm breeze unless you like a challenge. All whilst knowing that you are playing on one of the best golf courses in all of Canada. According to their website you must be sure to enjoy a conversation, beverage and sandwich on the picturesque sundeck of our club house. So pack your clubs, tees, golf balls and get your caddy cause Red Sands is waiting.

Anne of Green Gables Museum

On this 110-acre property you will find a museum with beautiful flower gardens, a gift shop with the finest licensed Anne of Green Gables products available, a view of the Lake of Shining Waters, Matthews Carriage Rides, a playground for the children and some of the most beautiful scenery on Prince Edward Island. The Campbell home, that L.M. Montgomery called the "wonder castle of my childhood", was built in 1872 by her Uncle John and Aunt Annie Campbell. The first Campbell's settled here in 1776

and it is still in the Campbell family after over two hundred and thirty years. Here, L.M. Montgomery, author of the world famous novel Anne of Green Gables was inspired to write many novels and it is the setting for Anne's Lake of Shining Waters.

Ship to Shore

Run and owned by Coreen and Duncan Pickering Ship to Shore is a great choice to get well cooked seafood and crowd favorites. with music inside and many unique item on the menu you are bound to find something you like from fish to burgers and fresh salads. You also have the option of sitting outside on the deck where you can feel the nice breeze and look out at the ocean where there are mussel and oyster fields in the Malpeque Bay. Ship to shore also has the option of getting takeout rather than sitting down which will always be up to their standard. If you're interested in something different Chef Duncan is always creating many delicious specials on a daily basis. Although make sure you try it out quick Ship to Shores 2025 voyage ends the 29th of August.
