What happened to Love Local PEI? It’s being re-purposed!! The desired outcome is the same, but the situation is different. Essentially, the masks are off, and so are the gloves.

With the constant threat of looming U.S. tariffs causing so much uncertainty for business and threatening our economy, we’re witnessing a real surge across the country to support local and Canadian-made.

In the coming weeks and months, we’ll be dusting off and re-launching some old assets , as well as introducing new ones, to help connect consumers to businesses operating in Prince Edward Island. Every dollar spent at a locally run business – whether it’s a small independent, a franchise, or part of a chain – helps keep jobs in our community and protects our provincial economy.

We all have a role to play in protecting local jobs and keeping our economy strong. Whether you’re a consumer, business owner, or community leader, prioritizing spending with locally run businesses, in person or online, makes a real and impactful difference.

Historically, in times of need, Islanders have shown up for each other. Every. Single. Time. It’s time again.

Please follow us on Social Media @shoplocalpei and be sure to tag us in your posts!

Calling Business Owners & Operators:

Get Collective Wisdom & Support on Your Biggest Challenge!

Running a business can be tough, but you don’t have to navigate challenges alone. Imagine having a room full of fellow business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals—all bringing their diverse experiences and insights together to help you tackle a pressing challenge.

That’s exactly what we’re creating with our next Food Crawl Workshop!

Last Fall, we ran an incredible session where participants worked through common business challenges while enjoying great food. The response was amazing—people loved the mix of problem-solving, relationship-building, and fresh thinking. But this time, we want to take it even further.

💡 This workshop is all about collective wisdom and support. Instead of working on broad business challenges, we’re inviting YOU—the business community—to bring forward specific challenges that need fresh perspectives. Whether you’re facing a tough decision, stuck on a problem, or looking for new ideas, this is your opportunity to get thoughtful, constructive input from people who get it.

The format will remain the same, designed to encourage collaboration and connection:

🍴 Three locations, three courses, three phases of problem-solving

🥗 Starters: Defining the challenge and unpacking key factors.

🍗 Main course: Brainstorming creative solutions together.

🍰 Dessert: Prioritizing and mapping out the most promising ideas.

But beyond the structured process, this is about building relationships and strengthening the local business community. It’s about coming together to support each other, share experiences, and create real, practical solutions—while enjoying some great food along the way!

📩 Interested in having your business challenge tackled? Send an email to Katie at kaccwellness@gmail.com with a short description of your challenge, and we’ll select one (or two) that would benefit most from collective collaboration.

Let’s make this Food Crawl Workshop more than just a problem-solving session—let’s make it a space for connection, creativity, and shared success!

Greetings from Town Hall

This month I have had the distinct pleasure of attending the opening of BGC Prince County (formerly Boys and Girls Club) here in Kensington at their new Victoria Street West location. The building looks great, and I can’t wait to see it fully operational. This will be a great asset to our Town and to families with young children in the area. Thank you to all who have made this possible.

Congratulations to the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce on a successful year that was highlighted at the recent Annual Meeting and lunch at the Murray Christian Centre. I wish you great success in the year ahead and thank you for all you do for the Town. It is through collaboration that we are able to achieve great things for our region.

MEMBER NEWS!!

WELCOME TO NEW KACC MEMBERS!

Welcome to the newest member of the Kensington Chamber of Commerce - Provincial Boat & Marine Ltd.!

Provincial Boat & Marine Ltd. is the oldest manufacturer of fiberglass fishing boats in Eastern Canada, located in Kensington.

Since 1974, we have been setting the standards for fiberglass boat construction.

We have found from experience that when a boat is constructed with little or no wood, it requires less maintenance and has a higher resale value.

Our boats are designed with strength and endurance in mind, while paying strict attention to the safety and comfort of the crews that will be manning them.

Our boats can be shipped by truck or sailed anywhere in North America.

Check out the website to see their products, their 45' fishing and pleasure boats, with various options to choose from.

Visit the Gallery on the website to see the building process we use, as well as examples of our boats around the world.
