Message from KACC Executive Director

We had a great month in October celebrating Small Businesses in our area! There were a lot of events and sessions between the Chambers across the Island and some of our partners.

We are now looking forward to the KACC Business Awards coming up on Nov 27th to celebrate the nominees in each of the categories and enjoy an evening with other members and guests in the area.

I usually get out an afternoon most weeks to visit members, please reach out if you have something specific that you would like to discuss or would just like to chat, I will be sure to put you on my list of stops!

The Kensington & Area Chamber partnered with the Town of Kensington on a drawing contest with QEES during Small Business Week. The students from K-6 were challenged to draw their favorite local business! There were over 60 wonderful drawings and a great variety of local businesses represented!

Congratulations to Piper, Rylee & Audrey on being chosen for the top three with their drawings of C&B Corner Cafe, the Haunted Mansion and The Food Basket!

Greetings from Town Hall

As we pause to reflect on the solemnity of Remembrance Day and honor those who served, our town now turns toward the joy and togetherness of the holiday season.

The Home for the Holidays Festival kicks off in early December, bringing festive cheer with the Christmas Parade and a host of seasonal activities. These events are a wonderful opportunity to showcase our vibrant businesses and celebrate the spirit of community that makes Kensington so special. We are very thankful for the many volunteers who are working to ensure these events happen each year.

Thank you for all you do to keep our town thriving. Wishing you a successful season and a joyful holiday ahead!

The Kensington & Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to be able to be hosting the 19th annual KACC Business Awards Gala & Christmas Social on Thursday, Nov 27th at New London Carriage House. The Chamber feels it is very important to recognize and highlight achievements of their members each year and enjoy a nice evening with some networking amongst members.

Nominees have been announced and there are limited tickets available. You can purchase online or request an invoice from the office.

The Kensington & Area Chamber will be seeking the interest for new Board Members for the upcoming year starting at the AGM in February. Our current board members are listed here so please feel free to reach out to any one of them or myself if you have any questions.

The Prince County Hospital Foundation has launched its 31st Lights for Life appeal! During November, they accept donations in honour and in memory of your loved ones. Each gift has a dedication that is collected in a keepsake book to be distributed at the community lighting ceremony on December 3rd at 6:30 PM at PCH! Enjoy refreshments, the PCH staff choir and the beautiful light show choreographed to music. A community tradition since 1995.

The deadline to have your gift in the book is Nov. 22nd at noon . Donations can be made at https://pchcare.com/lights-for-life/, by visiting the Foundation office in the PCH lobby, or by calling (902) 432-2547.
