Introducing the 2022 KACC Board of Directors!
Message from the Mayor
Did you know, that the staff of the Credit Union Centre (Rink) located on Garden Drive, which is owned by the Town of Kensington have developed two small outdoor ice surfaces in the fenced-in area in front of the rink? The cold weather has been cooperating for most of the time this winter and they have been able to at least keep ice in place. However, it has been a challenge to keep it free from snow. The use of this is provided free of charge and it is great to see the youth taking advantage of it.

The Tourism Ignition Fund encourages operators to develop new and creative products for the 2022 season to meet emerging consumer demands. To learn more about the fund, application process, and dates, operators should contact their local Regional Tourism Association or Destination Management Organization.

“The 2022 tourism season will be here sooner than we think, so it’s time for us to get ready to welcome back our beloved visitors with open arms. These funds are here to help operators prepare and think creatively about how they can enhance the upcoming tourism season in Prince Edward Island.”
- Economic Growth, Tourism and Culture Minister Matthew MacKay

“The tourism industry has seen two years of challenges and closures. These programs will offer many operators the opportunity to plan and prepare for a full 2022 tourism season,” said Corryn Clemence, CEO of the Tourism Industry Association of PEI. “The time has come to start to plan for a full reopening and these programs will breathe life into many operations across the province. We’re a world class destination, and we look forward to welcoming visitors from across the world back to Prince Edward Island.”

Tourism PEI is also waiving fees for the 2022 season. The following fees will be waived: accommodation licensing fees for existing and new applicants; highway signage fees for existing signage holders; and Canada Select star rating program fees.

On behalf of CBC’s hit television show DRAGONS’ DEN, I wanted to let you know the show’s producers are currently holding virtual auditions looking for the next big ‘thing’ in business.
DRAGONS’ DEN gives aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their businesses to a panel of wealthy Canadian business moguls - the Dragons. Successful pitchers will have a chance to earn real investment - from the Dragons’ own pockets!
This is a fantastic opportunity for entrepreneurs and small business owners to apply and pitch their business concept for the chance to appear on national television. We would love to see as many people apply as we can!
Please visit our website to apply http://www.cbc.ca/dragonsden/auditions. For more information on how to prepare for virtual auditions, reference our Cheat Sheet, https://www.cbc.ca/dragonsden/blog/the-dragons-den-virtual-audition-cheat-sheet
