Message from the Town of Kensington
It is great to be able to report that we had no major incidents on Halloween night this year. We thank the maturity of our children and adults for treating the night as a night of fun and getting treats and not a night to cause damage. Thank you to the Kensington Police Services for regular patrols to ensure compliance and for dealing professionally with any incidents that did occur. Thanks also to the Kensington Fire Department and Volunteers Fire Fighters for being ready to respond should the need arise. The weather cooperated for most of the evening and children were able to visit their neighbours and friends for treats.

Love Local, PEI is creating a business directory that will go live just in time for the holiday season on November 25! This comprehensive directory of over 1,800 businesses will provide a one-stop shopping experience and help islanders purchase more goods and services locally.

New funding to help with cost of tablets to verify PEI Vax Pass

A new fund is available to help Island organizations, required to implement the PEI Vax Pass, purchase tablets to scan PEI Vax Pass QR codes used to verify people’s proof of vaccination. The COVID-19 – Vax Pass Implementation Fund supports businesses, not-for-profits, and non-governmental organizations that may need to purchase a new tablet to implement a vaccine passport system in their business or operation. The fund provides up to 75 per cent of the eligible cost of purchasing a tablet to a maximum of $525 per tablet. If multiple tablets are required, the fund covers up to $2,100, for a maximum of four tablets. 
Prince Edward Island’s vaccination verification app

PEI Vax Pass Verifier – is now available for free download on mobile devices and tablets from the Google Play app store. The app has been available for free download for iOS mobile devices and tablets from the Apple app store since last Friday. The quickest way to download the app from either app store is to go through the PEI Vax Pass website where we have directly linked to the PEI Vax Pass Verifier app in both stores – www.princeedwardisland.ca/VaxPass. 

Cavendish and its neighbouring communities will be welcoming Islanders and visitors this festive season with Good Tidings on the North Shore.
