Dear Friend of KACF,
As New York finally experiences the warmth of spring, we are midway through our site visits to our potential grantee partners. It is always inspiring to see the ways these organizations provide vital services to the Korean American community with expertise and dedication day in and day out, through the seasons and years. Together, a strong net of support continues to be sustained from this web of services, to serve the complex and nuanced needs that exist in our community.
As part of our work to strengthen this social net in our community, KACF's third annual Giving Summit™ is coming up in just seven weeks on Saturday, June 8th. We are thrilled to announce an exciting, inspiring lineup of speakers including author and activist
Helen Zia
, to leaders in the world of philanthropy including
Christopher Cardona
of Ford Foundation,
Cathy Cha
of the Evelyn & Walter Haas Jr. Fund,
Mae Hong
of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors and
Daniel Lee
of the Levi Strauss Foundation.
Our Women's Breakfast will feature a panel with Executive Coach and Board Chair of Womankind,
Karen Elizaga
and CEO of TY Commercial Group,
Trea Yip
, moderated by
Sejal Shah Gulati
, VP/GM Global Commercial Services Marketing of American Express. The day promises to be filled with learning, laughter and practical application as we glean from the incredible wealth of experience and perspectives of all of our speakers. We hope you will join us on June 8th for this important convening and exploration of how our collective giving power can help create meaningful change.
As we begin the second quarter of our 17th year of serving the Korean American community, KACF is developing its strategic plan for advancing our efforts even further in the conversation on philanthropy in the years to come. Our continued goal is to partner with others to build a culture where we lift others even as we climb. We look forward to deepening and broadening our partnerships across the nation and various sectors to better serve vulnerable Korean Americans.
Wish you a wonderful spring season!
