While the Association, Cabinet for Economic Development, partner organizations, and community leadership convened by the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation prepared an innovative and collaborative event, the Association must focus resources and capacity toward serving the immediate needs of our membership and mitigating the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, KAED has postponed the 2020 Collaboration Conference until a time to be announced.
As I have said, the strength of KAED is our diversity, and the convergence of the professional and intellectual capacity at KAED conferences is a significant event. The decision to postpone the Collaboration Conference was not made lightly; but was made to better equip your Association to serve our membership and Commonwealth. As the Association and community leadership determine the future of the 2020 Collaboration Conference, I will communicate with our membership immediately.
Through the coming weeks KAED will focus on assisting with the #TeamKentucky effort led by Governor Beshear and will serve as a clearinghouse of relevant materials for our family of members. In addition, I’ll be contacting many of you to perform some market research about how your Association can be most valuable during this time of uncertainty, and communicating the results of these calls regularly through a variety of communication channels. I want to ensure we maintain consistency of messaging, and connectivity so that we are all on the same page and hitting the ground running once these events pass.
I will also be interacting regularly with the Cabinet for Economic Development. If you have comments, concerns, questions that you’d like me to express in communication with them, or things you’d like KAED to be providing further guidance on in general, please contact me immediately.
