We are experiencing truly remarkable and unprecedented times. The COVID-19 outbreak has asserted itself with a speed and comprehensiveness that has astonished us all.
Among the countless people wandering grocery store aisles and scanning empty store shelves in search of food, diapers, and toilet paper, are those who are also contacting clinics anxious to understand how they can pay for and secure an abortion amidst this health crisis. Some are confronting these challenges even as they struggle with lost wages and other economic burdens the pandemic has imposed.
As a result of these dynamics, COVID-19 is poised to heighten and thicken the barriers confronting people seeking abortion – threatening to make those barriers nearly
insurmountable and impenetrable
.
One thing remains certain: throughout this global pandemic, people will continue to need access to abortion in Kansas. As we struggle with this health crisis, it is essential for us to preserve access to the vital health care that is abortion.
Now more than ever, we need your help to ensure that financial resources are available to provide access to abortion – safe and time-sensitive abortion.
