UNISON PRAYER - MAY 11/12
|
|
Eternal God, we thank you for Jesus, who believed in people even when they stopped believing in themselves. Time and time again he was disappointed by his followers, yet he kept on loving and forgiving them. He called them to follow him. He despised the sins of prejudice, cruelty, selfishness, arrogance and lack of kindness. Then as he hung on a cross, the victim of our inhumanity, he interceded to you, saying, "Father, forgive them, they know not what they are doing." Keep us close to you, loving God. Keep reaching out to us because we sometimes have a hard time reaching out to you. Keep loving us even when we don't feel worthy of your love and don't know how to return it. Help us grow more and more in the likeness of Jesus, your Son, our Lord. Amen.
