UNISON PRAYER - MARCH 9/10
Unison Prayer Logo
Lord Jesus, Lent invites us to walk with you down your narrow way in obedience to a cross on a hill. We need courage to join you in that walk for it means saying "No" to other ways easier to pursue. The enticements of this world are alluring to us. We have many things which vie for our attention promising us pleasure and success. So we grab at this or that bright enticement, fearing we might miss the one possession that would give our lives meaning. Teach us the virtue of resistance so we might be able to renounce the evil which lurks around us. We need courage to accept and take up your way to the cross, the way which leads to life both now and for the future. Amen

To let you know your donations matter, SLUMC provided donated items to the Hope Women's Center in Coolidge: A carload of food, including 37 pounds of peanut butter; sweaters and coats; a beautiful baby quilt from the Krafters; and, oh yes, two new teddy bears.

On our behalf, Tracy Perry, pastor of Spirit of Joy UMC in Coolidge, who has been routinely delivering items from us to the women's center which is close to her church.

We received this note from Pastor Tracy:

Jolyn [center director] was thrilled!! She hasn't been able to keep up with the demand for food boxes, so this was wonderful. Thank you all so much. You are wonderful! With love, Tracy.
