When I wrote down the title of this article I started thinking about all the great songs to crank up when you’re out on the open road. Like “Born To Be Wild”, Steppenwolf, “Here I Go Again”, Whitesnake, “Born To Run” by Springsteen, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama”, “Love Shack” the B-52’s, the Eagles “Take It Easy”, Bryan Adams “Summer of 69”… the list of great songs goes on-and-on. Nonetheless, I digress to what this column is really supposed to be about. It’s hard to believe that KBA’s annual summer training roadshow is less than a month away! As a member service, each year we hit the road bringing useful sales training to a city near you. This year KBA has partnered with national sales trainer Paul Weyland. Paul is no stranger to most KBA members having presented at both our annual convention and on previous sales training opportunities. Paul’s style is infectious and his speeches are filled with humor and information relatable to today’s evolving broadcast sales landscape. He has authored two books,
Successful Local Broadcast Sales and
Think Like an ADMAN Sell Like a MAD MAN. This year’s schedule looks like this: Monday, June 11
th in Paducah and Madisonville; Tuesday, June 12
th in Elizabethtown and Somerset; Wednesday, June 13
th in Pikeville; and Thursday, June 14
th in Frankfort and Lexington.
These sessions are absolutely FREE to KBA members and this year we are giving away an Amazon Echo at each stop. Please reserve your seat today by clicking on the link
found here and completing the online registration form. We hope to see you with your favorite driving JAM “on the road” in June!
