KBA MEMBERS JOIN #BROADCASTGOOD
KBA members joined fellow broadcasters around the Nation on Tuesday for #BroadcastGood.

Broadcasters were encouraged to take to social media using the hashtag to showcase their favorite public service project, volunteer efforts and work to serve diverse communities.

The annual nationwide awareness campaign is to remind policymakers and their constituents of the power of local broadcasters.

ONBOARD YOUR NEW SELLER FOR FREE
Did you know that only 12% of employees surveyed from Glassdoor felt their organization did a great job with onboarding? Yikes! Don’t be a statistic and make your new hire rave about your onboarding, like Micheala.

The videos helped me understand how to get in with clients, how to talk to them, how to give proposals, and I even closed a couple of contracts.

ADVOCATING ON YOUR BEHALF
From the State Capitol to the Nation's Capitol, the KBA fights hard for its members on issues that are important.
The KBA, in conjunction with the National Association of Broadcasters, works hard to advocate on your behalf. Recent issues include the proposed Performance Tax, STELLA, Retransmission Consent, EEO,
C-Band Registration and other matters that threaten free, over-the-air, local broadcasters.

KBA'S SUMMER INTERN
MADELINE LEWIS
Those of you who have spent any time with me whatsoever, know that I'm passionate about doing everything humanly possible to grow the next generation of broadcasters. I believe that we have to take a step further than just awarding scholarships, by intentionally inviting these super intelligent young people to sit at the big table with us.

Let me take a moment to introduce you to Madeline Lewis of Georgetown, KY. "Maddie", as we call her, will be a Senior in the fall at Morehead State University and is majoring in Marketing. She is also a 2019-2020 Harry Barfield scholarship recipient.

Not only has Maddie jumped in with both feet to help around the office and assist with conference planning this summer, but we have also made time for her to visit a few stations to gain invaluable hands-on experience. Maddie is shown in the picture above on a recent visit to WTVQ-TV in Lexington.

Young people like Maddie present us with a unique opportunity to better understand the products that they consume, how they consume them and ways that we can better deliver those products.

If you would like to invite Maddie to your station for a visit, please shoot me an email and let's get it on the calendar. You won't be disappointed with this young lady. She represents the future of our industry and our Association.
