KBA MEMBERS UNITE FOR LEGISLATIVE FLY-IN
Broadcasters from all across the Commonwealth united in Washington DC this week for KBA's annual Fly-In. The group honored Congressman Hal Rogers for being the Dean of the Delegation at a dinner on Monday evening and made visits to Capitol Hill on Tuesday. Gordon Smith, NAB President/CEO, briefed the group prior to departing for the Capitol.

The issues that were discussed with Kentucky's delegation included: CPB funding, Local Radio Freedom Act, Broadcasters Caucus, Tax Credit for Minority Ownership, STELLAR and Spectrum. We are very fortunate to have the support of our legislators on all of these issues.

A special thank you to all who took time from your busy schedule to attend and contribute to the success of this years Fly-In.

JEFF SISK NAMED GENERAL MGR AT WHOP
Veteran WHOP broadcaster Jeff Sisk will become the station’s sixth general manager when Mike Chadwell retires next month.

Sisk has served in numerous capacities during his over 37 years at WHOP, including his current capacity as programming director, and says it’s a great honor to be chosen to lead the station.

You will continue to hear Sisk on the WHOP airwaves, he will continue to serve as the play-by-play voice for Hopkinsville High School and University Heights Academy sports and he says listeners won’t notice much in the way of changes.

Most importantly, Sisk says WHOP will continue to serve the community as it has over the last eight decades.
