#BROADCASTGOOD - JUNE 11TH
On June 11, the NAB Leadership Foundation will hold its annual  Celebration of Service to America Awards   in Washington, D.C., to honor the exceptional community service of local radio and television stations across the country.

Last year during Service to America Week, broadcasters took to social media using #BroadcastGood to share their favorite public service projects and activities. Your engagement resulted in over 10,000 tweets using #BroadcastGood on the day of the event and a nationally trending hashtag, reminding policymakers and their constituents of the power of local broadcasters.

NAB is asking stations to once again use  #BroadcastGood  on any social media platform on June 11 to showcase your favorite public service project, volunteer efforts and work to serve diverse communities. To participate:

  • Post a picture, video or text about your station's charitable and volunteer efforts highlighting community service initiatives.
  • Use the hashtag #BroadcastGood on every post.
  • This could be anything from food and coat drives, volunteer fairs, fundraisers or telethons.
  • Tag the nonprofit you worked with, charity or community partner.

We want to amplify the great work your station does every day by creating a real moment across all social media platforms on June 11, which means getting every member of your station to participate. From the station handle itself to anchors, the production crew and interns – we want everyone involved.

Together, we will remind policymakers of stations' vital role in every community.
2019 FLY-IN FOR RADIO EXECUTIVES
A prototype of what an automobile dashboard may look like in the not so distant future
Steve Newberry and Sam Matheny from the NAB discussing the relationship between broadcasters and automakers
Radio Executives from around the Country gathered in Detroit this week for NAB's annual Fly-In.

The focus of the discussions substantially centered around the relationship between broadcasters and automakers. Panel discussions included data, measurement, attribution, consumption and how broadcasters must work with the auto industry to include a best-in-class user experience for listeners.

Wednesday afternoon the group took part in a tour of the TU Automotive Exhibit.

Attending from Kentucky were:
Mike Tarter, Forcht Broadcasting; Dale Thornhill, Commonwealth Broadcasting; and Chris Winkle, KBA President & CEO.

ANDY ANDREWS TO SPEAK AT ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN OCTOBER
I am honored and thrilled to announce that New York Times best-selling author Andy Andrews has accepted our invitation to speak at KBA's annual conference in October, at Belterra Resort & Casino.

Zig Ziglar said, "Andy Andrews is the best speaker I have ever seen."

Andy has spoken at the request of four different United States presidents, worked extensively with the Department of Defense, and regularly addresses the world’s largest corporations. Arguably, there is no single person on the planet better at weaving subtle yet life-changing lessons into riveting tales of adventure and intrigue—both on paper and on stage.
As part of our agreement with Mr. Andrews, we are asking that you help us promote the release of his brand new book, The Bottom of the Pool, by airing the spots below on your stations. Our hope and ask is that you will be able to run 20 spots per week now thru 6/30/19.

To show our appreciation, everyone attending this years conference will receive a free copy of Andy's new book and complimentary access to his new website for 60 days.
