AWARDS BANQUET GETS A FACELIFT
NEW AWARDS ANNOUNCED
I am thrilled to announce that the Awards Committee has made a few changes to this years awards banquet, held during the annual conference. The first change is to move the event to Monday night, October 14th at 7:00 pm, immediately following the Ambassador's Reception.

Secondly, the awards presentation will be anything but typical, as we have hired a production company, with tremendous experience, to fully produce the event with audio, video, lighting and dynamic effects.

Perhaps the most exciting news, is that 17 new awards have been added to the slate. These awards will recognize stations and individuals for their excellence in broadcasting. Award categories now showcase RADIO, TELEVISION, TECHNOLOGY & LEGACY. Click on the link below to review all awards and please take a few minutes to submit a nomination for your station or deserving personnel.

Lastly, we hope that you will join us for a special "KBA Awards After Party", as we celebrate the night with special entertainment and a few surprises.

KBA's Excellence In Broadcasting Awards is going to be a fast-paced and high-energy night as we honor and recognize deserving recipients.

The KBA sends heartfelt condolences to President Mitch Fox, VP Eric Bonnici, the staff and members of the Nevada Broadcasters Association on the loss of your headquarters.
RADIO #1 IN REACH, TV A CLOSE SECOND
Nielsen's newly released June 2019 Audio Today report, offers insights regarding listening trends, in all its various forms, including podcasting and smart speakers.

Among the highlights: Across age, gender and ethnicity, radio consistently connects with a large number of consumers. · When looking at demographics by gender, listenership remains strong. Both women and men 18-49 use radio in large numbers, with their listenership nearly equal at 65.9 million (97%) and 65.4 million (98%), respectively. Country is the top format for both genders.

Not surprisingly, adults 18-49 are the demographic that tunes in the most. The monthly reach for these listeners is 132.4 million (98% of the population), and Country is the format they prefer most.

Adults 25-54 are the second most reached demographic for radio, with 123.6 million (99%) of the population listening each month.
