CONGRESSMAN ANDY BARR'S WIFE PASSES
The Kentucky Broadcasters Association, on behalf of radio and television broadcasters, would like to extend heartfelt sympathy and sincere condolences to Congressman Andy Barr and his family on the sudden passing of his wife Carol earlier this week.

Congressman Barr is a true friend, advocate and strong supporter of Kentucky's commercial and public broadcast stations.

We ask each of you to please keep the Congressman, his family and his staff in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult and challenging time.
KBA PUSHES BACK AGAINST PROPOSED FCC REGULATORY FEE INCREASE
The Kentucky Broadcasters Association, along with the state broadcasters associations of 49 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, filed extensive comments an ongoing FCC proceeding opposing the FCC’s proposed increase in broadcast regulatory fees for 2020, particularly in light of the economic impact of the current pandemic.

The Joint Comments argue that the FCC’s methodology for setting broadcast regulatory fees does not comply acts of Congress passed in 2018 and must be revamped to comply. Part of that revamp must include charging regulatory fees not just to FCC licensees, but to all parties benefiting from the FCC’s operations, including technology and other companies that benefit from the FCC’s efforts to make unlicensed spectrum available while only increasing interference to broadcasters. Finally, the Joint Comments presented a number of action items the FCC needs to undertake immediately, including simplifying the process for stations seeking regulatory fee waivers and deferrals, and ending its policy of prohibiting stations that are already in debt to the FCC from seeking a waiver of this year’s regulatory fees.

P1 VIRTUAL SALES TRAINING FOR NEW HIRES
CLASSES START JULY 6TH
On Monday, July 6th, P1 Learning will host a 7-week training program designed to build the confidence and know-how of your new sales employees (two-year experience or less). Here are five reasons that we think you should register one of your sellers.

1.      1-on-1 Training     P1 Learning’s   Speed Marriott and Katey Woolam have both been in the industry for 30+ years and have trained hundreds of up and coming sales professionals... with many of them getting their first sales during the P1 Plus program.

2.      Access To 40+ Online Videos   – The online training is state of the art as P1 Learning is constantly revising content to ensure the program is up to date with today’s events.

This way, once your sellers have completed the program, they can hit the ground running with usable information.

4.      Mobile Friendly   – With many employees working remote these days having access to training content from a phone, tablet or laptop is essential.
