EMS-TEI Renewal Underway
KBEMS EMS-TEI renewal applications are in the EMS-TEI director's KEMSIS account. The deadline for EMS-TEI renewal is March 31st. A list of EMS-TEI's expiring this year can be found below.

KBEMS Inspector/Liaison
Ray Chesney currently serves as Inspector/Liaison for the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services Appalachian Region.
KBEMS Education Committee
The education committee is a standing committee of the board. The Education Committee shall consist of seven (7) voting members representative of EMS Educators in the state of Kentucky. At least one (1) voting member of the Education Committee shall also be a member of the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services. 
KBEMS Continuing Education (CE) Provider Audit
KBEMS conducts random audits to verify compliance with regulatory requirements. 
EMS AGENDA 2050
Throughout 2017 and 2018, the EMS community is coming together to develop a new vision for the future of EMS. EMS Agenda 2050 is a collaborative and inclusive two-year project to create a bold plan for the next several decades. EMS community members, stakeholder organizations and the public are all encouraged to get involved in writing a new Agenda for the Future that will set forth a vision for the next thirty years of EMS system advancement.
Medical Director Update
All Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure (KBML) licenses expire during the month of March. Medical Directors will need to access their personal KEMSIS account and upload a current copy of their new KBML certification. At that time, please review the account to ensure that the certifications listed above have been uploaded and are current.

KBEMS has created several reports using the data collected from Kentucky EMS Agencies through The Kentucky State Ambulance Reporting System (KStARS). See what is trending now!
NREMT Recertification is Underway

NIOSH Pilot Project
In 2017, the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS) was awarded a contract by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for a pilot stud y.
Guidelines for Fatigue Risk Management in Emergency Medical Services
The primary objective of the Fatigue in EMS Project was to create an evidence-based guideline for fatigue risk management tailored to EMS operations.
