Smoky Hills Public Television's Scoreboard Show is partnering with the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC Sports) by providing Kansas football fans with a KCAC Game of the Week this fall. SHPTV's broadcast of the game will feature a live broadcast at www.scoreboardshow.tv every Saturday until the end of the regular season on November 10.
SHPTV will promote the KCAC Game of the Week each Friday night on its Scoreboard Show, a recap of Kansas high school sports action, that airs live beginning at 10:30pm and re-broadcast at 10:00am each Saturday morning. In its 10th season, Scoreboard Show runs for 11-weeks and covers high school football as well as other fall sports throughout Western and Central Kansas.
"Our commitment to provide free live video streaming continues to help us reach important audiences who may or may not know about the conference" stated Dr. Scott Crawford, Commisssioner for the KCAC. "This partnership with Smoky Hills Public Television will help us connect with fans, alumni, and future student-athlete recruits along with their families through our Digital Network platform with iHigh."
This latest venture with SHPTV builds on any already existing relationship with the KCAC. The two organizations partnered to provide live television broadcast coverage of the 2011-12 KCAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships from Hartman Arena this past season. SHPTV's coverage of the game was available live to the entire state of Kansas and parts of Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma via the four public television stations in the state - SHPTV (Western Kansas), KPTS (Wichita-Hutchinson), KTWU (Topeka), and KCPT (Kansas City).
"After last year's partnership of broadcasting Championship Monday, I am excited to grow on this partnership with the KCAC. And what better way then a KCAC Game of the Week. It ties wonderfully in with our Scoreboard Show as we promote the youth and events going on in Central and Western Kansas" explained Michael Quade, General Manager and CEO for Smoky Hills Public Television.
On February 25, 2013, SHPTV will once again provide live coverage of Championship Monday. Pending a successful football campaign, SHPTV and the KCAC will consider expanding into Men's and Women's Basketball Game of the Week programming as well this season.
