KCCD is pleased to invite you to this special opportunity to meet in person Brian Bakke, President of the Mustard Seed Foundation (MSF).
MSF is looking to grant to local congregations that are located within the official limits of Los Angeles County. The Foundation will be looking to partner with local congregations with a parish mentality ministering to the people God has placed into their specific neighborhood. The Foundation funds new projects, or the specific cost of expanding a specific part of an existing ministry. The Foundation will consider awarding up to 50% of one project.

The Mustard Seed Foundation
The Mustard Seed Foundation was started by Dennis Bakke and Eileen Harvey Bakke in 1983. Since then the Foundation has awarded more than 14,890 projects and scholarships a combined total of $93.5 Million. Last year the smallest grant award to a local church has been $500 and the largest award has been $30,000.
Sample grants the Foundation has awarded in the past 30 days:
- Establishing a loan fund for single mothers in a church in Accra
- Preschool outreach ministry in a Lima shantytown
- Helping to plant a new daughter church in Washington, DC
- Starting a ministry for those that have been trafficked in Toronto
- Creation of a music school outreach in Medellin
- Cost of discipleship project for new lay leaders in Hyderabad
- Help plant a new church in downtown Tokyo
- A dance outreach in Guatemala City
- A children's preschool outreach in Cairo
- Creation of a tailoring workshop for women in a church in Agra
- Tutoring evangelism ministry in Hyderabad
- Evangelistic camp for slum children in Bogota
- Help launch a rehab center for children in a slum area of Cairo
- Muslim outreach ministry in Holland
- A revolving loan fund for members of a church in Katmandu
- Start a business leaders outreach in Bogota
The Foundation does not fund building acquisition, construction, or rehab projects; vehicles; ongoing costs or administrative positions; TV, Radio, or Internet projects; book publishing; citywide, statewide, or national strategies. The Foundation does not give money to projects that involve a crisis response to chronic poverty. Costs of a conference are the lowest priority for the Foundation.
The MSF will not accept grant applications from any parachurch ministries. We will only accept grant applications that are written by and are financially supported by the budgeted tithes and of the applicant's congregation in the neighborhood of ministry.

The Mustard Seed Foundation

MSF에서 지원하지 않는 부분
- 건물구입, 건축
- 재활 프로젝트
- 차량, 계속적인 비용 혹은 행정관련 직책
- TV, 라디오 및 인터넷 프로젝트, 출판
- 시,주,혹은 전국적인 전략들
- 지속적인 빈곤에 대한 위기대응(일시적도움)을 목적으로 하는 프로젝트
컨퍼런스를 위한 지원은 우선순위가 낮습니다.
MSF는 교회밖 목회(parachurch)로 부터의 신청서를 받지 않습니다. 사역하고 있는 커뮤니티내의 지원교회의 의해 작성되거나 십일조를 통해 재정적으로 지원받고 있는 지원신청서만 받습니다.
