KCCDA Keeping Our Community Safe
Note from the Executive Director
The Kalamazoo County Consolidated Dispatch Authority (KCCDA) is committed to providing quality public safety services to the residents of Kalamazoo County. It’s at the core of what we do as we strive to keep our community safe.

The consolidation of the KCCDA has put public safety first. By centralizing our call center and streamlining services, it makes our response times better and more efficient. We continue to look for ways to improve our efforts and keep our commitment to you – our community.

We welcome you to join our coalition to learn more about the KCCDA and ways you can support its work moving forward. You will find more information provided below.

Public safety has never been more important than it is right now. We’re all in this together.

-Jeff Troyer
Executive Director
Kalamazoo County Consolidated Dispatch Authority
“I am a strong proponent of limited government. But government does have essential roles, one of which is public safety. That is what the KCCDA is about – PUBLIC SAFETY. I support the KCCDA and encourage my friends and neighbors to do the same. We’ll all be safer for it.”

John Gisler, Kalamazoo County Commissioner
Public Safety is at the Core of What We Do
The benefits of the KCCDA have been profound and critical to ensuring public safety in our community.

Streamlining Services
Kalamazoo County Dispatch Authority consolidated their 9-1-1 system from five answering points to one. This has shortened response times and saved lives when seconds matter most.

Improving Response Times
The Kalamazoo County Medical Control Authority reported county-wide cardiac arrest survival rate increased by 20% in 2019. The KCCDA contributed to this increased survival rate with pre-emptive dispatching and a continuous effort to reduce call processing times.

Contributing to a Thriving Economy
The consolidation of the KCCDA has saved taxpayers over $1 million in operational costs by streamlining 9-1-1 services. This cost-savings allows those financial resources to be invested in other community priorities and contributes to a thriving economy.
Goals for the KCCDA:
Upgrade county-wide public safety communication system to increase interoperability among first responders, make resources more efficient, and reduce response times

Enhance coordination with other units of government to continue providing quality services

Continue implementation of best-practices and streamlining processes making services cost-effective
