2018 - 2019 Strategic Plan Finalized
KCHP members had the opportunity to complete an annual membership survey prior to KCHP’s Annual Strategic Planning Retreat held in July. The KCHP board appreciated the positive encouragement, constructive criticism and creative ideas shared to advance Our Organization for Our Patients and Our Members. The KCHP Board is looking forward to teaming up with all the talented pharmacists, faculty, residents, technicians and students in Kansas to accomplish the many exciting goals set for the next year!

Sign Up Today for the NEW KCHP and KU-SSHP’s Mentor/Mentee Program

KCHP is offering pharmacist and student members the opportunity to participate in this new program aimed at providing professional guidance to mentee members. Student pharmacists will be partnered with experienced pharmacists based on professional area of interest and/or geographical location to facilitate face-to-face meeting opportunities. More information on program requirements, expectations and a link to the applications for mentors and mentees can be found online a http://www.kchponline.com/mentorship .

Resident Welcome Event
August 2, 2018
KCHP and Greater Kansas City Society of Health-System Pharmacists welcomed new residents at the Resident Welcome Event held at The Boulevard Brewery Brew Hall.
Over 40 area residents and preceptors gathered to network and celebrate the new residency year. KCHP & GKCSHP wishes all residency programs a successful year – we look forward to working with area residents on committees, networking at events and advocating to advance the practice of pharmacy in our region.

KCHP Rural Pharmacy Summit
August 21, 2018
The Salina Regional Health Center hosted an educational and networking event focused on supporting health-system pharmacy in rural areas. An impressive 74 attendees from all corners of the state traveled to gain valuable information and earn continuing education. 
  • Attendees were complimentary of this year’s content and excellent speakers!
  • Kansas Board of Pharmacy Update provided by Executive Secretary, Alexandra Blasi and State Board of Pharmacy President, John Worden
  • Operational pearls on Antimicrobial Stewardship, USP Updates and Drug Shortages were presented by KCHP Members, Linda Radke, Joanna Robinson and Megan Ohrlund
  • Lunch allowed for colleagues from across our state to network and share information
  • Dr. Greg Lakin from KDHE presented Opioid and Healthcare Initiatives for Kansas
  • Fan Xioug, Epidemiologist Data Analysis, shared the latest data from K-TRACS
  • Reyne Kenton, K-TRACS Program Manager, reviewed the K-TRACS Program and Efforts of the Opioid Taskforce
  • Shane Hudson, President & CEO of Central Kansas Foundation educated the audience on Addiction Treatment and Services offered in our state.
  • Special thanks to Linda Radke, Megan Ohrlund and John Worden for coordinating this successful event and The Salina Regional Health Center Foundation for the generous donation to make this event and future events possible!
